Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 February 2018Great fire amazing bargainI have only had the fire a day and I half but did quite a bit of research and review reading and for the money and the dimensions that I needed this little fire came out on top I already had a elsetricfireplace suite but the stove that came with it had just given up the ghost after 3 years of actually not that much use in heating terms have central heating so that’s not really what it was used for just for the flame effect really anyway wanted something that looked a little more realistic and the dimplex range with Optiflame looked like it would do the job obviously there are more expensive models optimist opti v etc but I don’t want to spend £400 plus on a fire. The fire came well packaged it was a day late but amazon sorted it out quickly and made sure it was delivered the same day I made a complaint I dont pay for prime for no reason !The fire is well made looks a lot more expensive now it’s in place in the fire surround sturdy has a lovely flame effect which makes the house cosy even without the heat on great little remote that if your on off switch is left on and u choose to leave the 1st or second heat switch on will switch it all back on or off also some people said in other reviews that it was loud when switched on I don’t think it is it’s very quite compared with the one I had previously I’m really happy with this fire I’m glad I did some research also it’s a bargain it is £225 on the dimplex website so save your self some money and go for it you won’t be disappointed.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 September 2016nice looking electric firenice looking electric fire , brought with chimney and slate , very pleased indeed. heats up the room quickly .
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 October 2017Lovely !I debated long and hard it I should buy this, as I really want a real wood burner but as my house has no chimney it would be a messy and expensive job to fit one. I then decided to give this a try, encouraged by the mainly positive reviews. It arrived within 3 days of placing the order and was really easy to install, basically open the box and plug it in. It does brighten up the room, especially now that the long nights are coming. I have not ordered this for the heat, just to give the house a cosy look and focal point. It will never be able to replace the real thing but as a substitute it's more than ok. Would recommend.

I was really excited to receive this stove and I spent a very long time researching for a stove. I went for Dimplex as it is a well known brand and usually high quality.Originally I wanted a metal body for the stove, but I settled on ‘cast iron effect’ as stoves with the shell of a traditional stove are very expensive.First of all, I did like the overall look of the stove; it is attractive, solid and well built. The metal handles in gold and the fact that the double doors open are an added bonus for me. The stove is made of wood with a plastic mat effect over the top to look like cast iron and it offers a good traditional look without being fussy or old fashioned. The fuel bed is a plastic mould designed to look like coals. You also get three small ziplock bags of real coal to place over the plastic fuel bed (would like to have received two more bags). You don’t need to fix legs on or do anything else; the stove is ready to go immediately. The stove is a good size and looks good in situ. It creates a focal point for a room and I added a black coal bucket (Deville) filled with pine cones and a slate effect pad also from Dimplex. Unfortunately the windows are thick Perspex as opposed to glass. The flame effect is attractive and fairly realistic. I feel it looks better on video than in real life but it does offer a cosy ambiance and the feel of a fire. It is lovely when the lights are out and you are watching a film.Initially, we only used this stove for the flame effect and as we purchased in July, we didn’t need the heat. Unfortunately the first time we switched the heat on, in September, there was a hiss, small bang and that was that!We contacted Dimplex but as this stove was sold by Amazon, they couldn’t help. Amazon could not replace the stove as it is out of stock from Amazon and more expensive from other sellers. Luckily we are going to have a refund but I am not going to repurchase as it is now much more expensive and I am concerned that there was a fault. You are covered for a year with the manufacturer but this doesn’t seem to apply if you buy from other sources.I query how long these stoves are designed to last and perhaps the one year warranty supports that. It would be interesting to see how long other customers stoves have lasted, especially as the price point is just under £160.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 April 2017Lovely, and very realistic.Beautiful fire and a lovely addition to my very small lounge. We use it quite a lot with just the lights on.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 January 2017Looks amazing and silent on flame effectAs I have central heating I don't really need a electric fire although I was impressed with the heat the fire gave out. I wanted it solely for the flame effect just to make it seem warmerI know it's all in the mind but just seeing a flame makes a big difference. Strikes me someone is missing a trick not making a product with just a flame effect as most homes now have central heating.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 August 2020A good little elecrric log burner. It is plastic and if you touch it you can feel that it isn't the real deal, it is a bit flimsy on the doors, it weighs so little! But who spends all their time touching an electric log burner?! From sat on the sofa, it looks the part, even with the flame effect on, which can give the game away easily on cheaper electric log burners, it isn't the worst I have seen at all and it kicks out some good heat. So for the price, it is well worth it, plug it in and go.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 September 2020Beautiful flame effect, so cosy lookingLoved this fire buy sadly had to return it was a little to small for our fireplace we could see the blocked off fire openingSo we purchess another wood burner effect from same brand it's the same as this one but slightly bigger that looks stunning in the fireplace and covers the backplate. The flame effect is stunning on both of these fires, both gave out a nice heat.Aa I said above the only reason for my return was because we needed it a little wider their next size up fitted perfectly
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 June 2019Realistic worth every penny.I bought a similar one from Dunelm and I returned it as it looked cheap and very fake. I was conscious of the price of this and was worried I’d made another mistake. But this electric fire definitely didn’t disappoint. I love the fire effect I have it on most of the time when I am relaxing in the living room. The heat that gives out has two settings and I find it doesn’t have that fake heat smell that most electric fans have. I constantly get compliments on it and I love how realistic the flames are compared to other options.

- Is the 10cm x 10cm x 10cm size correct? Seems very little??? Please reply quickly as I am very interested in purchasing. Could I order on the phone?Hi, would be very small. No, without a tape measure I would say it is about 70cm high, 40cm wide and about 30cm deep.It is a fantastic fire. Mine is on at the moment, not noticable with the tv on and gives out superb heat. This fire has it all. Nice looking, safe for kids and low on electric. Hope it helps
- Can anyone post a video please? I am worried if flame looks "fake". Is it "optiflame" or "optimyst" (Dimplex names). Any thoughts? It is Optiflame. The flame looks very realistic. - If the cable is not long enough to reach a socket, would it be safe to use an extension lead?As the fire is quite a high rating it would need to be single socket extention lead that would nothave to cross a door threashold.
- How long is the cableapprox 160cm - length of electric cable - fire is great .. looks realistic against our brick slip tiles.. gives of lovely heat too .. awesome purchase
