Affiliate disclosure

7 Interior Design earns a commission when you buy through a link on this site. Here is precisely what that means, what it costs you, and where it does and does not affect what you see.

Last reviewed

The one-line version: if you follow a link from this site to a retailer and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. You pay the retailer’s normal price. It is not added to your bill, and it does not come out of your pocket.

How it works

We do not sell products, hold stock or process payments. Every “buy” button on this site sends you to the retailer’s own website, where you complete the purchase with them under their prices, their delivery terms and their returns policy.

The link that takes you there carries a tracking identifier. If you go on to buy, the retailer’s affiliate programme credits us a percentage of the sale. That commission is paid by the retailer out of its own margin. The price you see at checkout is the same price you would have seen had you gone to that retailer directly.

Programmes we participate in

  • Amazon Associates. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
  • Awin and Webgains. Affiliate networks through which we work with a range of UK retailers.

Where a page links to a retailer we have no commercial relationship with, we earn nothing from it. We still link to it if it is the right result.

What commission does not change

This is the part that matters, so we will be specific.

  • Price history is measured, not chosen. The tracked low, average and high on a product page come from a daily automated scan of the retailer’s actual listed price. No human decides them and no commission rate touches them. The method is documented at how we track prices.
  • A verdict can be unflattering. If a product is currently priced above its own tracked average, the page says so, and suggests waiting. That is true whether or not the product earns us a commission.
  • Ratings are first-party only. Star ratings in our structured data come solely from reviews left on this site. We do not republish a retailer’s or marketplace’s ratings as our own.
  • We are not paid for placement. Retailers cannot buy a higher position in a category listing or a more favourable write-up.

What commission does influence

In the interest of not overclaiming: commercial relationships do shape which retailers we can track at all. Building and maintaining a price feed for a retailer takes work, and we prioritise retailers whose programmes we are part of. So our catalogue is not a complete census of the UK market, and a product being absent from this site is not evidence that it is a bad product or badly priced.

For any purchase that matters, it is worth checking a second source. We would rather say that than pretend to a completeness we do not have.

Prices and availability

Prices shown here are the ones recorded at our most recent daily scan and can change at any time. The price and availability on the retailer’s page at the moment you check out is the one that applies. We are not party to that transaction, so questions about payment, delivery, warranty or returns go to the retailer, not to us.

Your data

Following an outbound link passes a tracking identifier to the retailer so the sale can be attributed to us. It does not pass your name, email address or any account details you hold with us. See our privacy policy for how we handle the data you give us directly.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you think a page on this site is not living up to it, tell us through the contact form. We would rather hear it.
