I'm a guy, I don't read instructions, but I'm glad that I did this time!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 September 2019
It's great. There you are, short, sweet and to the point. Okay, the base has to be put together and went together pretty easily."The importance of reading the instructions"!So I got it together wound the winder and produced a fabulous fabric wall... Try as I might I could not turn it into anything else. So the family are all sitting around the patio looking at all of the leaves floating in the pool and my sister suggested that (for once) I read the instructions.(I might have a degree but my sister went to grammar school). Well, what do you know, that's how you do it!Okay, enough of the ad-lib. Once you know what to do the parasol goes up really well. My sister now wishes that she'd kept quiet because (it is supported by a thick and robust looking cord) it sways gently in the breeze and although quite hypnotic makes her feel sea-sick on dry-land.Attaching the solar-power-element was a bit of a faff with my fat fingers but I managed it.The built-in lights work well and add another useful dimension to the thing. All in all: Well made, Easy to build, Good and understandable instructions and arrived promptly and well packaged.I'm very satisfied.

Good value but difficult to secure positioning
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 June 2019
Overall the quality of the material used and parasol are good. There is just one flaw which really impacts the usability of the parasol. There is a screw to adjust the positioning of the parasol. This method of securing the position is not sufficient and when the wind blows the parasol moves to another position therefore moving the shade to another area. The point of the parasol is to provide shade but this is not achieved if the parasol moves to a new position when the wind blows

    Good purchase

Fabric is a bit inferior but that said umbrella meets expectations in terms of coverage and the cantilever tilt function. Not sure yet how effective the lights are. You do need base weights but I certainly wouldn’t be paying the £69 for those which is more that half the price of the umbrella itself. We’ll come up with a compromise. And the instructions could be clearer. They don’t show you how to operate the tilt - it was very much trial and error. At one point had begun to think we’d bought the wrong umbrella or that we might need to return it. That’s why I’m only giving it 4 stars.

Great Parasol, shame about the supplier
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 May 2021
So we brought this Parasol and luckily at the much lower price than currently advertised (Why the grey is £40 more than the others I don't know)The first one arrived but I couldn't be assembled. The bolts included were the wrong size. The Manufacturer wouldn't send me replacement bolts without charging me.Amazon kindly replaced the whole product instead. The second one arrived and assembled fine, however the LED lights do not work. I don't really want to have to take it apart and send back yet again, and I know the manufacturer will charge me to replace parts. We've decided to live with it without the lights working. It is a shame because I think the Parasol itself is great... but 2 faults and challenges in getting it rectified made me drop the review to a 2*.

    Just Awful
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 April 2021
Hi - this item is so top heavy even with the expensive base plates. The base plates don't join together and it is unsafe. I have pinched my fingers in the arm. It is made of very cheap feeling plastic, which I think after 1 summer will be very brittle and break - I expect to end up taking this to the tip - I missed the return window by 1 day due to work commitments, I wish I had returned - delivery was fast and well packaged but an awful item that I wish I had not bought it. A complete waste of hard earned money - please buy another product

    Disappointing
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 August 2020
All seemed fine but had barely used it as it is not stable without the weights - so had to wait for those to arrive. Had used it left than half a dozen times when the inner cord snapped which meant that the whole mechanism snapped. A complete and very expensive waste of money

    Faulty

Hi-I couldn’t find another way to send the picture. We used the parasol 3 times and put it down each time but the rope has snapped.

    Great umbrella
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 October 2019
Great garden umbrella, the solar powered lights on the underside of the umbrella are great and seem to last for ages - had a party and they were on all night.Really easy to put together, make sure to secure the base with either some heavy slabs or the base weights.

    Not great quality

Slightest bit of wind and it blows all over very easily. Came without parts the first time around so another one sent out

Cheap and cheerful but does the job
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 June 2021
Its cheap and the materials used are not top end but then for this price I wouldn't expect them to be. Its easy to assemble, looks great and works well. If looked after (e.g. put away at night and protected from rain) I could see lasting at least 3 years, not sure how long the material will survive the UV from the sun, only time will tell.

Customer questions and answers

  • does the umbrella come with the weights on the bottom as in the picture?
Afraid not, there are no weights included although the frame does have holes in the bottom to allow you to fix it to the floor if needed
  • Can you use any base
It needs to be one of the quadrant bases for this.
  • does the umbrella come with the weights on the bottom as in the picture?
No you have to purchase the weights separately
  • Does this have UV protection?
    Not aware
