Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 June 202015 kg concrete parasolmy order arrived a week earlier than expected so well done , it’s very simple to put together , the metal supporting tube just screws onto the base , there are three plastic reducing rings of smaller diameters supplied to ensure pole is a good fit , my pole is 38 mm and fits perfectly , and a metal tightening screw which grips the parasol pole securely ,i have also used a weight bag with 30 kgs of sand which sits snugly on top of and the base , so now there are 45 kgs to keep the parasol firmly upright, it feels very sturdy and doesn’t move at all , and if that not enough i could put another 30 kgs sand weight bag on top of the existing one !!! problem of 2.7 mt parasol falling over now solved .
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 June 2020A great umbrella baseIt was a bit fiddly to assemble, mainly because of the weight, so would recommend it as a two person job. We have it under a table supporting a 3m diameter umbrella with 38mm pole. I have had the umbrella up on a gusty, breezy day and it worked really well!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2021good solid base but very fragileThis is a good heavy concrete base for a stand alone brolly. It does not fit under the Brackenstyle picnic tables that have integral seats on them as the column is too high - or the access hole is too narrow! I had to cut about 75mm of the tube which included the grub screw to secure the brolley to get it to fit. In addition the concrete edges are so fragile that in the process of positioning it on our concrete yard the edges have all chipped leaving the underlying concrete showing through - not very attractive but I suppose a bit of paint will sort that! There is a smaller flat brolly stand that is available for use with picnic tables that will save you all the trouble.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 September 2020Cracked like a snapped cookie !You would think that at 15kg nothing could go wrong..Sadly that isn't the case.Firstly as you can see from my picture, its cracked, broken, knackered.I have no idea how high you have to drop this from to break as it arrived damaged, but the point is ..... they do crack !!!Also, as you can see, I've attempted to use it, and the pole sits at a funny angle. No amount of adjustment will get the dam thing to sit straight !I've since bought a plastic one and filled it with water. Much better, half the price, and won't break.Plastic doesnt break easily... this does. Look elsewhere !!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 September 2020Sturdy baseExcellent! I looked all over the internet for a parasol base. Didn’t try the shops due to Covid situation and because these things are so heavy it would be a nightmare to transport. After trying to find that was in stock that wasn’t silly money I settled on this one. Very happy with my purchase. Easy to put together. Did it myself without issue. Solid and sturdy. Our parasol has been left out for weeks standing in the centre of a patio table with this underneath. Had the parasol up too in light wind and didn’t budge. So it’s fit for purpose in my opinion. Get one. Better than the ones you fill with water
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 April 2021Chips easilyEdges chip easily so you need to be very careful when moving it around. Black paint comes in very handy to hide mishaps. Otherwise does the job well.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 July 2018Brilliant product and amazingly fast deliveryBrilliant product and amazingly fast delivery. Totally had enough of those water filled bases that end up leaking and don't stand strong when the wind blows - and the parasol leans precariously, threatening to fall at any moment! This heavy base works perfectly - so pleased I purchased!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 August 2021Very heavy baseIt was rather difficult to insert my parasol into the base and I had to resort to lubrications and a lot of twisting and turning. However once attached it has proved an excellent purchase and does not wobble at all.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 March 2018The black concrete looks good. The pole section simply screws into the baseThis is a heavy base but is moveable. I'm a average sized woman in my 50s and i managed. The black concrete looks good. The pole section simply screws into the base. It is adjustable for different size parasols. Waiting for better weather before i put my parasol up so haven't tested that aspect of it yet.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 April 2020No good for cast iron tables with central hole and circular shelf between tabletop and ground.I thought I had measured everything before ordering this base. Its central upright is described as being 4 cm diameter. The central hole in my cast iron table and intermediary shelf is 4 cm diameter. But when I set it up, the base didn't fit inside the table hole, so it's useless to me. My back yard is too small for this size base unless it sits under the table. Sigh.
Customer questions and answers
- What is the smallest diameter pole this will accommodate? I have an umbrella parasol that is only 2.3 cm in diameter.I have a 3 cm pole, and I dont have to put the screw right in, so it should be OK.
- Would the plastic inserts allow it to securely hold a parasol with 22mm diam pile?Yes it does the job. Be careful as the lime in the concrete has taken the colour out of my plastic patio
- What is the diameter of the base? The base is about 24" approx. I use it as a base for a bird feeding station and it is ideal,am well pleased with it.
- What is diameter of productI wouldn't bother with it mate as I've not had mine two minutes and the Base has cracked already....
