One year later and it stops working!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 October 2019
Ive had this fire a year. To start it was great. Flame affects and heat. Didn't use it that much maybe 10 times over last winter. Left it plugged in over summer just incase i wanted the flame effect but didn’t. Then today nearly a year after buying it i try to use it as it was a bit cold. Nothing! I check the fuse. Its working. I can see the fire is getting power as it turns on the standby light but when you try to get either the flame affect or heat nothing! So now i have a nice looking fake fire that doesn’t work!

Cheap but good looking stove, get LED version
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 December 2016
If you cannot have a gas fire but need an electric stove and don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for a fire recreation - then this is a pretty good looking model with the normal 2kW radiator supplied by AZ itself. While the new version uses LED bulbs, the one AZ sells is the older one with 2x60W incandescent bulbs (apparently not covered by warranty? Dimplex are you serious??) but easy enough to change to two cheap E14 LED bulbs of similar rating. If you intend to leave the fire simulation on for long periods then get the new LED version or change the bulbs. It does come with a remote for on/off - though you cannot change whether you want no heat/1k/2k heat - it turns on whatever you have it set to.One more thing - check box for holes, mine came with a big hole (forklift?) which made a huge dent in the stove; naturally it is made with thin metal sheets so a big knock causes massive damage. It had to be replaced.

    Stopped workign after 10 months
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 October 2019
Previous Dimplex electric stove lasted 10 years, on this basis I bought the Dimplex Club 2 KW Electric Stove . I mainly used it for the light as opposed to the heat although when I did it was good at getting the chill out of my small living/dining room without resorting to putting on the gas heating. Helped speed up the heating of the room while waiting for the radiators to do their job. For some unknown reason it stopped working last week, 10.5mths after purchase, either by remote or the main on button. Tried changing fuse in plug and using other sockets, to no avail. Would work for one evening and then nothing the next. I'm waiting on a response from amazon and the manufacturer for repair or replacement as it's within warranty. It's been a few working days. Amazon have called and are trying to put me in touch with the manufacturer but no success yet. If they do replace it I'm worried that this might happen again. Nothing on Dimplex site or online to troubleshoot. Disappointed. I wonder if anyone else has had the same issue.

    Woodburner without the mess!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 November 2018
What a difference this stove has made to my unused and empty fireplace. The flame effect is very realistic and gives out a feeling of cosiness and warmth and that's without putting the fan on! The only complaint I have is that there is an intermittent faint ticking noise when the flame effect is on, noticeable when there is no other sound around, not heard when the TV or radio is on.

    Great instant heat
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 October 2020
Looks the part, sturdy and stylish. It fits perfectly in our conservatory and provides plenty of heart for a 15' X 12' space. Heat is instant, and although there is inevitably some noise when on the highest setting it isn't intrusive. The thermostat works well and we leave the setting on low overnight so the conservatory never gets too cold. Highly recommended over cheap supermarket alternatives. PS - the top and body does not get hot as the heat is all directed from the fan at the bottom.

    Broken parts on arrival
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 December 2018
Was delighted to get this new fire for my new house. However unfortunately when it arrived we went to install in into out new home a fortnight later only to find then when we opened the box that the legs where falling off, the glass panel had fallen out of place and the fire logs where broken. My husband is very handy and spent a long time fixing up everything and had to super glue the fire logs back there is still we gaps. But after spending a lot of money we where very disappointed to find this problem, we also wanted to have it for the Christmas period so couldn't send it back

This fire is primarily for decoration effect really as our house is centrally heated, but it has a powerful fan and can kick out useful heat quickly if required. We like it and would recommend.

    So pleased with this!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 May 2021
Bought an optimist fire first, but it didn't work properly, so sent it back and went for this optiflame fire, saving myself about £300, and I'm so pleased I did! Very simple to set up and use, but looks pretty neat. My only complaint would be that the remote control is flimsy, and you cannot turn on/off the heating, just the 'flame' effect.Anyway, we're pleased that we've got it, and looking forward to seeing it operate for years to come!

    Real value for money.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2021
Looks like a real log stove. Even when switched off a small glow from the logs looks like a dying fire. The heater is very effective at keeping a decent sized lounge/diner warm. I am over the moon with the quality of this purchase for what was a reasonable price. My only quibble is that whilst I can use the remote control to switch the fire off, I haven't figured how to use it to switch it on.

Ask Amazon Alexa to "turn on your Stove" or "Turn on your Fire"
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 October 2017
Great fire. Very realistic effect. Change the bulbs to a pair of E14 Hue bulbs and you can then ask Amazon Alexa to "Turn on Fire" or "Turn off Stove"This will turn on or off the lighting effect, When using the lighting effect only.
