At the same time, they're not at all uncomfortable to hold.I bought a whole load of new tableware and kitchenware and used Robert Welch for most of it. Expensive? Yes, but you get what you pay for. These will last years.I've been using them for around a month now, handwashing and polishing afterwards. They've maintained the finish finish well and there's hardly a scuff or scratch on them. They are safe for dishwasher use but I prefer not to take the chance.Almost everyone who has used them so far has positively commented on them.

- Do the knives have a serrated cutting edge?Hi. Yes serrated cutting edge. Just note, there are two sizes in the Malvern range. The image about is the large size.
- Do they need to be washed before first use ?I did hand wash them before I used them and hand wash them after every use -do not put in dishwasher.
