- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 June 2020Large China mug-capacity incorrectA lovley China mug,lightweight with a simple design.However this is NOT a 450ml mug,It holds LESS THAN 400MLSIt was important to have a 450ml mugas I use a hot water dispenser and wanted It to hold at least 400mls.With coffee+cream I can only add 340mls of water to this cup-I WOULD NOT have bought this item had I know the correct volume.A real shame and misleading description!!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 July 2021Beautiful but seem like secondsThese are lovely mugs, solid, and a beautiful pattern. But there are 3 things that annoy me: 1: that the handles are made from two pieces moulded together and none of them are smooth - you can tell its two pieces. The handles are all at slightly different angles, meaning the mugs look like seconds. Also there is a substantial dip on the underside of the mig which fills up with water if you put them in the dishwasher - really annoying when everything else comes out dry! And thirdly, you need to drink your drink very quickly to stop it going cold! The size and shape of these mugs means drknks dont stay hot for long

Possibly not the seller's fault, but I asked for a replacement, and instead the money was refunded to my boyfriend's card - not the card it was purchased with, just the one from the email the replacement letter was printed from. So if anyone else at my work had printed the email for me I can assume that they would have been refunded my money.Now we've had a new set delivered, and to be fair they were packaged very well, much better than the first time. Unfortunately after one use, careful washing by hand, and general "they're new mugs, be careful with them", one of the mugs has developed a break all the way round the side, leaking coffee all over the table. Not impressed with the quality of these mugs for their price. I was going to order the plates and bowls to go with them but I think I will look elsewhere for something manufactured to a higher quality.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 March 2021Large ,stable mugs. Good for tea or coffee.Good size, big enough for quenching a morning thirst. I like the related but different designs. Makes keeping track of whose mug is whose much easier without looking a hotchpotch. A pleasing thickness, not too fragile but also not too heavy or chunky to drink from. I put them in the dishwasher but I can't say yet how well the glaze will wear. The tops of the mugs are quite wide so take up a bit more room in the cupboard than a straight sided mug.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 December 2019Disappointingly thick chinaLove the design of these large mugs BUT I would not describe them as "Fine Bone China" as they are very thick and therefore lose heat fast. I had, perhaps wrongly, assumed fine bone china and porcelain meant thinner and more delicate. This has certainly been the case when I've bought other similarly described porcelain.

These are such a nice size, really good if you like extra froth on your cappuccino. There's a nice range of plates and bowls in the same pattern all around similar prices so will likely look at getting more in this pattern. At the time I brought these the set was £45 and single mugs about a tenner so really god price too.

I would have been happy with either.What you get it a standard mug with a volume of about 350ml…which I specifically did not want.On the plus side, I was looking for something to throw at the fox that keeps trolling the dog every night, so…every cloud.

They hold a very reasonable amount of liquid. Eady to clean as the mug is big enough to get your hand inside. All round, happy with the purchase. Will now buy more items of this range.

If you fill the mug to the brim (meaning you couldn't drink from it or carry it without spillage) it holds 400ml. If you leave a small space at the top you could just about get away with filling it to 350ml. I specifically wanted very large mugs and these are not as described. Does this infringe the trade descriptions act?
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 June 2019Best mugs I've ever purchasedI ordered a set of these mugs a year ago, and sadly we broke some so have recently purchased more. They look good, they don't crack or discolour with age. They hold a nice large mug full quantity, but aren't oversized. The set of different but complimentary patterns is really lovely. We get a lot of compliments from friends and several have gone on to buy them. Very pleased.

- Royal Doulton produces 2 different sizes for these mugs: small 26 cl, large 45 cl. What exactly is the size of this one? Very confusing.I agree - the description is inaccurate. I have the large, so-called 45cl ones and they hold no more than 350cl if filled almost to the brim.
- is this made of porcelain or is it melamine?They are china, not as fine as porcelain but definitely not melamine or plastic.
- Do the mugs come in a box?Yes so easy to wrap !
- Are these mugs dishwasher safe?We’ve had them for a year and always wash them in the dishwasher. As far as we can tell they look as good as when we first got them.
