Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 February 2018Not impressedOnly used it 3 times and the coating is coming off (see photos)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 May 2018Fryinghave been pleased but my pan has started to fail picture isn’t of scratches but where the non stick is splitting
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 October 2018Brilliant pan but non-stick coating coming offLovely non-stick pan which is easy to use and we even considered getting a second one. However having only owned it six months and the non-stick coating has started to come off in places. This is deeply upsetting as we use the pan frequently and was a good pan to use.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 January 2021Very bad quality: blistering and peeling in 9 months timeOrdered and received 2 pans end of April 2020. It is now end January 2021, so approximately 9 months of use.Never put them in the dishwasher, always washed them by hand (using the soft side of the sponge) and the attached photo is the result. The currently reviewed model, we are about to trash, and the other is still alright.Won't be purchasing this again. At GBP 18, the price is in no way justified.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 April 2019Very light but is not anti adherent as it is describedBought this pan, because of all the good reviews, but actually, I'm very disappointed, was expecting another type of quality from Tefal, it says in the description that almost no oil is required, but unfortunately, I found out the wrong way.Tried to do pancakes with this pan side by side with a cheaper one from Asda (3£ or something like that), and guess what. Asda pancakes stuck neither burn. With the Tefal pan, the pancakes just burned and stuck into the pan.And it is not the way I do pancakes, because I just did the same way on both pans, just to really verify the quality.Do not recommend it, it is not worth the value. It is so bad, that I'm thinking about returning it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 August 2018Good pan, shame it arrived damaged.Good size. It is a little on the heavy side, but it is a large pan. Have only used it twice, but it cooked well and cleaned easily. Disappointed that it arrived with a nasty scratch. Decided not to send it back as the scratch is on the rim, so doesn’t affect cooking surface and I needed it. However if the problem gets worse will return under the guarantee. Have put 3 stars for durability but that is unknown so far as the pan is new.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 October 2017Tefal quality at it's best.Purchased to replace our aging pan where the loose handle had become dangerous. We have a number of other Tefal products, and based on our experiences with their quality over many years, this was our only potential choice thro Amazon.Great product, at a reasonable price.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2017Pricey but worth it.Smaller than I expected and expensive for the size but this is my fault for not checking diameter more carefully. Would have liked a bigger one in hindsight as kids like big omletttes but a really good pan none the less and sturdy. Would recommend.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 April 2017Solid, reliable, and long-lasting.I have just bought this to replace an identical one that I have had for over eight years. That old one finally became hard to get really clean, and needed a lot of soaking to shift anything that had stuck to it. But I am not complaining, far from it. This one was actually significantly cheaper than the price I paid for the old one, in 2008. Considering how often it has been used, and generally at very high temperatures, I really cannot fault it.Some have complained about handles becoming loose, but that didn't happen with mine. With careful storage, and equally careful cleaning, I have no doubt that the replacement will last just as long. That works out around £2.40 a year. In my book, that's a bargain.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2020My favourite frying pans. These are my favourite frying pans. My last one, a larger one, has lasted about 10 years and I felt I needed a new one because it was getting quite worn.I cook a lot and used my old one everyday, making stir frys, risottos, pancakes, and cooking veggie sausages etc for the family. Burnt it a few times too but it's still sturdy. But the non stick was wearing away. What I love about these pans is how nicely they clean, how food just slides off and how sturdy they are. You can feel the quality. My new frying pan arrived in good condition and I am very pleased with it.
Customer questions and answers
- Is this really only 454 gms? That is much lighter than all the other 28 cm frying pans.I haven't weighed it but its a great pan and I use it often, I bought the Tefal range of saucepans, really happy with them :)
- Can you put it under the grillI don’t think so, the handle could melt...
- Why are these not compatible with electric/induction hobs? The best cookware for induction hobs are made from ferrous metals such as stainless steel (specifically 18/10 grade) and cast iron. Other types of cookware such as aluminium, copper, glass, anodised or ceramic won't work unless they have an induction plate built into the base.
- Tefal extra stirfry pan, 28 cm. can anybody please recommend a compatible lid? thank you. There is a 28 cm lid on Amazon cost £8-39 from Pack N Trade.
