You do need quite a high ceiling for best effect - do check dimensions - and don't forget the lamp comes lower than the base of the shade. Gives good light but only underneath, not much spread.

- What is the length of this pleaseSorry its now hanging up so difficult to measure . It hangs roughly three feet from the ceiling . There is spare chain should you want it longer !

- Is the light suitable for use with a dimmer switch?I am not a qualified electrician but would imagine it could be used with a dimmer switch . It can be bright on the eyes as I have it over my island so it would be a good idea if it was possible !
