    Best Option out there...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 November 2018
I bought this one and a cheaper one at the same time last week, boy do I wish I'd just got two of these! It's great maximum heat for minimum costs.. its quality is high, the design is small, unobtrusive and most importantly safer than standard little oil filled heaters, with a wider base it makes accident knock over much less likely, good for me with clumsy kids! On a geeky note I trialled two just to see myself, this one is 500W and warmer than the other traditional small oil filled heater which was half the price but with an 800w output for less heat. Most oil filled and convection heaters are around 2000w so if you are poor like me that's a big deal, you could use 4 of these in seperate rooms and heat 4 rooms for the same cost in electricity as heating just one room with a standard heater. I do not have central heating so this is the best option for me, since my landlord isn't going to be putting central heating in anytime soon.I give this 5 stars as I think the quality is good, the design is simple but practical and it does a good job of heating a room for less money than an average heater. I genuinely wish I'd just bought two of these rather than wasting money on a cheapy, it maybe double the cost but I think in the long run £48 isn't a bad price given the quality and long term savings...

    Too noisy for bedroom
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 October 2018
I purchased one of these back May to heat a small bedroom. When it arrived it had clearly been opened before and used. However, I gave it a go and it appeared to be ideal in providing a more than adequate amount of heat. Then it started. The loud clangs that would come out of nowhere and make me jump. These noises were apparent when the device was changing state, ie starting to warm up (thermostat kicks in) or starting to cool down (thermostat drops out). I would suggest they were due to the expansion and contraction of the metal elements. Whatever it was it certainly wasn't conducive to getting to sleep or maintaining sleep. I sent it back. In Sept I ordered another, not realising it was the same one but purely based on the overall star ratings (foolish me) and guess what? Read from the start again, verbatim!I'm finding this happening more and more now with purchases on Amazon. Basically getting an item that is a 'second' that another customer has found unsuitable and they then try and palm you off with it.

    Really packs a punch!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 November 2019
This is a really great little heater! Considering its only 500w this oil filled radiator really does manage to heat up our 13.5 square metre living room, in fact we often have to turn it down a little as it gets too warm!I have been keeping an eye on our electricity usage since getting this heater and although we are using more, it only amounts to about 2 or 3 units per day. Its very economical since the built in thermostat means that its only actively heating until it reaches whatever setting is chosen, then it will switch off but continues to stay warm until the temperature drops again and it begins to heat up. The thermostat dial goes from 0-6 and for our room, setting no 2 is just right. This heater has turned out to be far better than expected and much more cost effective than I was anticipating as well. Win, win!

    Great for a motorhome
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 August 2017
Had it for 7 months now. Great wee heater. Keeps our motorhome about 10 degrees warmer than outside. Used overnight in winter, when temperatures were below zero. Kept the van plenty warm enough while sleeping. At other times of year, when temperature is above 10 degrees outside, keeps the van toasty. It will not keep the van warm enough in winter for sitting in, but didn't expect it to... It's only 500w.Great size and weight for carrying around and rounded edges make it safe to use when the van is full of kids and the dog. Paid a bit extra for the Delonghi over the cheaper heaters. Very glad I did.

Say hello to my little Friend
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 October 2020
The place I live in is lovely, but its also cold as well. Now that I am working from home thanks to Covid-19 I wanted to get some more heat in. Originally I bought one of the Ceramic Hot air heaters that you here about (2000w) and it was rubbish, the heat did not seem to travel enough for it to make any difference at all.My neighbour then bought this ones big brother and I was rather impressed by it so much so I bought this one, and I have to say its has worked. Its height and weight means its very portable and the cost is really low (500w) meaning if I leave it on all day then it will cost around 50p.It will not heat a whole room, that's the worse thing can say but it will heat the part of the room you are in.

    Don't do it!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 October 2020
Ok so loads of reviews here state it's fast at heating up and that throws out maybe even too much heat. And i was sceptical but thought I'd take a chance. Well I'm going to be honest I dont know what type of shoebox these 5 star reviewers are living in because one it takes at least 30 mins to an hour to just start to feel a little heat in a small bedroom and what heat it it gives out is not much. So no i don't recommend unfortunately but if you have a tiny little room and have no problem leaving it on for long periods of time just to get a little heat out of it then this tiny little contraption is for you.

    Very loud and disturbing noise
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 November 2018
This relatively expensive small radiator clicks loudly every few seconds for the first 8-10mins each time it is switched on and considering we bought it for our babys nursery for the more chillier winter evenings - a loud constant click does not help at all when she is just drifting off to sleep so we are having to turn it off and not use it. Disappointed and frustrated. We only used it on a low setting number 2.

    Small room required.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 February 2019
I bought this for a garden room 5m x 3.6m which is well insulated. I was hoping it would take the chill out of the air if I ran it for 3 or 4 hrs. Unfortunately it wasnt ample for what I required and regrettably had to send it back with Amazons excellent customer satisfaction service. I did proceed to buy the bigger Delonghi 2.5kw model with mechanical timer which is excellent. Maybe for a very small room it might suffice but was no use to me.

    Love this
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 October 2020
Feally love this little oil rad.My son has a small box room and I wanted 3 things out of an oil rad.To be compact. This is a really nice size thats easily tucked out the way.To give enough heat to take the chill off. This does that easy as his room is quite small. To be quiet. Many oil rads have a click on the thermostat you would hear from space which is intrusive during the night. This is probably the quietest we have heard. You still hear it but its quite soft and muted. So overall this ticks all our boxes and does so whilst only taking 500watts at full power. The heat can be adjusted in 6 levels and theres a large on/off switch with visual indicator for power on.All things considered this is a well priced and featured heater that fits our purpose perfectly. I am thinking of getting another for his sisters' room.

Great little heater, reliable, gives off a lot of heat, cheap to run
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 March 2020
I highly recommend these little heaters. They are sturdy, take about 10 minutes to heat up then give off a lot of heat, and are cheap to run being 500W. depending on what you pay per KW hour its about 7 or 8 pence an hour. I’ve had one for over 10 years and it still looks new and works perfectly. Initially there can be a few “crackling” or “crinkling” noises as the oil heats up,but that doesn’t last long. The thermostat is useful too as you can set it to blast out heat or just on a warmer setting to take the edge of a chilly room. I’ve just bought 3 more.

Customer questions and answers

  • Does the de'longhi trns0505m oil filled radiator incorporate a tilt switch to turn it off if it gets knocked over?
Couldn't see one. But have to say almost impossible to knock over accidentally. Sits a bit like the old mini cars? A wheel at each corner! As I say almost impossible to knock over.
  • what are the dimensions of this heater please ?
    34cms (L) x 17cms (W) x 40cms (H)
  • How long does it take to heat up?
Very fast, very efficient little heater with heat settings to give control. I have it in my utility room so a small space 2mx2m and it is perfect.
  • Can anybody tell me the actual wattage pulled from the wall? My current heater says its 500w but actually its pulling 750w : /
No idea ... how reliable is your method of measurement ... by UK law a manufacture must sell and describe a product accurately; my faith is with De'Longhi.
