    No suction power
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 May 2021
My friend has the Winix Zero 99sqm model and said it works well with pet hair and dust. I went for this model because my room is 28sqm and so it was overkill yo have the bigger one, suddenly this new product showed up and it seemed a perfect fit. The main reason I went with winix is because it's a trusted korean brand and their purifiers don't produce ozone. Can't fault the build quality or packaging, all of that is really well done and it is simple to use. Sleep mode is relatively quiet, step 1 is slightly noticable white noise, step 2 is a louder increase and step 3 sounds like a mini jet engine.However... I've had mine for a month, and it has been turned on 24/7 for that whole month on the auto setting. It increases and decreases when you do stuff around it, so the sensor does seem to work. The BIG issue is.... it doesn't suck up anything. Absolutely nothing. I placed a tiny fibre next to one of the holes and on 2nd setting it doesn't even have suction to keep it in place. On highest setting it has just enough to keep it in place but not suck it in. This was a tiny small fibre that was floating in the air.Since I was cleaning and dusting... the purifier itself got covered in dust as did the floor, you can even see the particles in the air. None of them went into the air purifier. After a month of being on non-stop my friend suggested to look inside the filter and see if it's taken anything in. So I open it up and inside is exactly the same as when I bought it and set it up. Spotless and clean, not a single fleck of dust in the filter or even around the compartment. So basically it's just been a glorified air cooler and nothing else. Obvisouly I can't tell if it's sucking in odours or the germs, but considering how it says it can suck up pet hair, dander and dust and it didn't do any of that I find it hard to believe it's going to do the rest of what it says. It's being returned today and I'll try a different model. I'm very upset because this was the perfect model if it worked as advertised. I don't know if it's a fault of just the unit I got given or if it's generally this model. I'm going to try the model my friend has even though it is double the price. It's such a shame because if this worked as it should have it would have been an absolutely perfect purifier for a trusted Korean brand.

Few information about the filter packaging which can cause big issues
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 February 2022
I have just bought the item recently; and before buying, when I went through the reviews I came across some comments about smells of plastic, noise, etc. I understand the cause of the problem, simply because my son was curious to check the item and opened the item's receptacle. I cannot believe that the company is making such a great product and doesn't give enough information that the customer should do something before pressing the ON button. Instead, they put a small yellow sticker which just shows something with pictures even if there is no title on the sticker. So whoever wants to buy this product, before switching on, be sure that you rip off the plastic protector of the air filter and locate it as it is instructed in the yellow banner. THE PRODUCT IS NOT READY TO BE USED when you open from the packaging

Liked the first one so much I bought a second!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 June 2021
I have had large and small air purifiers for a year and recently decided to buy two smaller units for bedrooms. I chose this Winix model because my husband has larger purifiers of this brand at work and likes them. I couldn’t be more pleased! I got one and then a week later a second. Both are great and well exceed my expectations. They work well, are easy to use and I love how they show you current “air quality”.The day I set it up in my daughters room the light showed amber at first which confirmed what I thought. My room showed blue...until I started moving things out of my closet kicking up unseen dust and it went red! Both cleared the air pretty quickly then moved down to a quiet mode.Sleep mode is great, and much quieter than both the large and small air purifiers we already had. Automatic is a great function too. These have made a big difference to hayfever and dust allergies for those in the family who suffer. I also like that the plasma function clears viruses and bacteria!I definitely give these five stars and I will likely buy a third for my oldest to take when they are off to Uni in the autumn.

Great for hay fever sufferers..would recommend.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 July 2021
3 weeks in..and we’re impressed. We bought it as my husband’s hay fever was really affecting his sleep. From the first night he noticed a great improvement and was thrilled. It’s not too big so stores under my dressing table; cleverly it assesses the clarity of the air and adjusts to suit; it’s not to noisy at all as mostly it stays on blue, which is the lowest setting but you can choose a night mode which is even quieter. I’ve just cleaned the filter, which was really easy. We keep our windows and door closed and turn it on after tea. It quietly cleans the air ready for bed time. An added bonus is that the room stays much cleaner..no windows open obviously helps too. Well worth the money.

    Perfect for the bedroom
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2021
An excellent little air purifier, ideal for a bedroom or similar sized room. The sleep and basic modes are very quiet but it gets a tad noisey if you rev up the performance levels. Winix models aren't the cheapest but are they are excellent quality for the price and my experience with Winix's customer care is that it responds very quickly to inquiries

    Weird smell and irritating whir
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 June 2021
Unfortunately it didn't live up-to my expectations. 24 hours in and still a weird smell. Not sure if oil in the motor. Its also developed an irritating whir not a smooth sound but rough and oscillating. It didnt have this when it started out of the box. Its annoying now and the DB rises and decreases on my meter between 25-34db swings. if it was constant it would be ok i expect a sound, but up and down, i will go nuts listening to it. Sorry but i will have to return it. I have a computer tower next to me with 7 fans and the Winix is 6 foot away. I cant hear my com fans just the Winix.

Quite noisy and irritated my nose
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 February 2022
I bought this primarily for the ioniser function, not air purification. Initially the air in the room had a fresh quality, like mountain air (negative ions), which I liked. But then I started sneezing a bit and noticed the air became like a fan heater was on (positive ions), which was quite unpleasant. Also it was quite noisy... I had it on sleep mode and from 4 metres away I could still hear the fan noise more than I would have expected. So it went straight back.

    Excellent effective air purifier
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2021
Very easy and intuitive to use, just turn the air purifier to automatic and let it get on with cleaning the air. It takes all smells out of the air via the carbon filter, and keeps the air quality very clean. I have pets including birds which create a lot of dust, and I have been looking for an air purifier that does not use ozone, as this can affect birds, the Winix range uses plasma to purify and kill airborne bacteria and viruses, which is perfect and works wonderfully. I would highly recommend this air purifier as I have this model in my bedroom and a larger model in my living room and I would not be without them now.

    Depends on the purpose
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 May 2021
Product is really good for smells. Clears out bad smells quickly (eg burnt toast) but also clears out my diffuser, which I am not too happy about. However, the purpose of buying it was to reduce the amount of dust in my flat. Sadly, it has had no effect on this. Still have the same amount of dust settling everywhere. Can’t really comment on quality of the air as I already have over 50 plants and I didn’t have a problem with air quality in the first place.

    A value packed effective purifier
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 May 2021
One of the best air purifiers you can purchase for the pricr. As far as I can tell This model is the same as the compact zero which goes for £150 in most other sites. This model is more powerful than the blue version and offers automatic sensing that is missing on the similarly priced levoit model
