Stopsmoke? More like stopped my blueair from working correctly.

Very disappointing. Owning two blueair filters (200 and 400 series) l have purchased the particle filters. Having called the company to enquire about the difference between the filters l was advised that this is far better for my asthma and allergies. I started using it 3 months ago when the filter needed changing and have had nothing but trouble and poor air quality. Reason being the filter remains on level 3 in auto mode and constantly indicates there is a high level of dust within the room. If l take it out and install a particle filter after the initial high purification it soon settle to number 1 (only getting higher is something activates it to do so). So l have had to keep the filter on a level 1 or 2 which was not suitable to my health requirements, as auto mode is what is most used and needed.Seriously feel this was a total waste of money, l could have purchased 2 particle filters for the price of one of these and had better air quality, a quieter room and been less stressed as it would be set to auto mode and left to do what it is supposed to do.Blueair filters are wonderful and, till this experience, improved my quality of life. But the stopsmoke filter has been nothing but tiresome, inadequate and a complete letdown

Used theses for years in my blueair air purifier. They seem to keep doggy smell at bay and keep me from sneezing through the summer.

These function well (with the appropriate Blueair cleaner) but the price is pretty steep. Not sure £99/year is what I should be paying for filters?

I've been using the Blueair 501 with somokestop filters for a few years now. It is absolutely brilliant. And amazing at removing everything airborne! Smoke, smells etc. and you don't get much dust settling! I have a perfume allergy (and smoke) and it's been great for for me.The drawback is, of course, cost. I replace my filters about 3 times a year. It would probably be more efficient to do it 4 times a year.So work out if your happy with the yearly running cost before you buy.

These are (the inferior) Particle Filters not SmokeStop filters.

    Works great

Expensive but works very well. It has to be replaced every 6 months in theory but in practice ours gets replaced every 4 months. We live next to Bushy Park and get all the pollen, traffic pollution etc

It probably won't help with smoke

Not as good at removing odour from smoke as I had hoped...

I got this so I could smoke my pipe in my shed. It works really well, removes the smoke immediately and, if left to run for a while, also gets rid of all odour. Expensive but does the job in a way that cheaper ones do not.

    Factual inaccuracy or marketing puff?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 April 2019
I would be very interested to know what is the chemical formula for Magnesium Dioxide which, in this manufacturer's description it is claimed is included in the filters as one reason for their excellent performance (see "Hundreds of activated carbon pellets impregnated with magnesium dioxide...…" etc.)It is unfortunate that these expensive filters are over-claimed because the BlueAir product itself seems good quality.
