Bought it to put on a chest of draws in the guest bedroom. Looks really smart and nice.If you've read a review that there is no switch to turn it on and off and that you'll need to pull the plug out from the socket - forget it :) The switch is located below the bulb so that it doesn't ruin the overall design or is inaccessible as usually people put the cable behind their furniture.

I bought a pair of antique style lacquered brass bedside lamps with standard slub weave shades producing a comforting warm glow from the bulbs I supplied. The bulb holders had bayonet fittings for max. 60 watt incandescent bulbs. Bayonet low voltage or LED bulbs would fit too. The lamps and shades assembled easily and are good quality. They do the job well. They arrived the day following order and came undamaged, having been extravagantly packed in six high quality transit boxes nested within a larger outer box. They turned out to be the height I wanted. It would have been helpful if Amazon had published the height of the lamp and the type of bulb fitting, in the description. Otherwise, very happy with my purchases.

Cheap and poorly made but looks nice

The metal stand is ok but the plastic screw cap is difficult to screw on and there little bits on the lamp shade that I can only describe as bits of a Brown paper bag. FromA distance it looks nice but on closer inspections it’s cheap and poorly made and think it’s only really worth half it’s price. Plus some other marks on lampshade I think these didn’t pass quality control and someone has got holdOf them and selling them on line but they will do the job

Product as described but why fit a white flex ??

I see another reviewer wanted a white flex instead of a black one but I have to disagree as a brass lamp with a white flex looks stupid and cheap (IMHO). Surely the flex should be black or at least a dark color ?? I am tempted to send it back because of this but as it is not that visible will put up with it but would not buy another without checking the color first (amd or I can just wrap some black tape around it or put it in a black shroud. Other than that the lamp is as described and I have no other issue.

We ordered two of these lamps and they were delivered quickly and efficiently and were well packaged. They are attractive bedside or occasional side table lamps and represent good value for money. Of course you can pay more and may get better quality but these were fine for our bedsides. Don't forget to buy the bulbs separately, spec as per product details.

Lovely lamp. Good size. Switch on the cable. Really impressed.The packaging was rubbish though, crammed into a battered box, but no damage. Apart from that, perfect!

Nice looking lamp (would've preferred black ones but we found these), switch is right under the bayonet fitting so quite close to the bulb, not that safe in my opinion. Could've included a standard bulb in the box for the price

Arrived damaged and not Happy!!

Just received my package. When I open it, a very large box, I were greeted it no support, no inner packaging. It were just sitting there in the bottom of the box. My first thought was there's gonna be damage. When I pulled it out the lamp shade were indented in several areas and the lamp itself were broke at the light filament.Luckily I were able to reconnect both the wires and the bulb fitting and removed the dents in the lampshade and it worked.I'm upset it came in such a state but thankfully it seems ok now. If I have any problems I will be sending it back for a full refund asap. So watch this space seller.

Very nice lamp. Would have liked the flex to be white as the black flex stands out against my white wall.

I purchased this lamp as a touch lamp ,do you have to use the switch.
Yes, you have to use the switch which is at top of the base below the bulb.

Is the lamp made from Metal or Plastic resin?

Not on cord. It on lamp inside shade. Okay

Can someone please tell me the height from the base to the top of the brass part/bottom of the shade?
It's 39 cm from the bottom of the base to the top of the light fitting that holds the bulb ( this is plastic, not brass) and 29 cm from the bottom of the base to the bottom (lower edge ) of the shade. Hope this helps.
