- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 November 2020Major design flawI’ve been using this for 2 months now and only today discovered a major design flaw with this, let’s face it, extortionately priced dish rack.We chose this as we moved into our new house and the kitchen doesn’t have a draining rack. We did our research and picked this one. I thought it was ok and doing a good job; it’s spacious and as long as we don’t let the washing up pile up too much, then everything fits on. I was puzzled though by the constant puddle of water by the sink. I accused my husband of not wringing out the dishcloth properly but then there was still the puddle when I washed up (& did wring properly)Today I decided the rack needed a clean. I cleaned it and then filled the kettle to rinse it off. As I poured the water onto it, expecting it to come out the drainage spout, water came pouring out of the sides! I looked underneath and can now see the cause of my constant puddle of water - there’s a gap on the sides ‘wings’. I guess this has to be there so it can collapse down but to me this is such a stupid design as it means water seeps out. And seeing as I don’t ever collapse it down, I find this even more pointless.I will be living with this because, as already mentioned, I spent a stupid amount of money on this, but I wouldn’t recommend at all, there must be better ones available. Really disappointed.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 December 2019Very happy with this purchaseI've had this for a few days now and I'm really liking it so far. Previously, I only had a black silicone mat where I would place everything. This meant very little would fit at once, what was there would take a long time to dry and the water would pool up on a corner of the mat. This solves all three of those problems. I like that its plastic instead of metal because that way it wont rust over time and you wont be able to see white specks from dry water. Very happy with this purchase!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 September 2017Excellent dish rack with great design featuresWouldn't normally review something as banale as a dish rack but this one is awesome! The design means all the water runs down a single spout, straight into the drain. This means no more cleaning all the water and marks underneath as you do with a normal rack. Also if you're short on room it's great as the rack itself can sit on the kitchen work surface, either with the spout down and over the edge of the drainer, or with the spout up as a completely sealed unit which can be placed anywhere. Other nice touches are the plastic spikes for holding glasses - they are over a "lip" which means plenty of air gets into the upturned items. You get almost none of the condensation you get when placing glasses to dry on a normal rack. Straight into the cupboard, no additional polishing required.Everything else is neatly designed - good cutlery holders which are clear, which is great as you'll see any dirt/mold as soon as it starts appearing. And such a cool design for the plate holders which can fold flat if you're drying larger items. And while I don't use the ability it's neat that it all folds up.It's not perfect though... There aren't many grooves for plates. The advantage of this is the plates are well spaced out and dry super-quickly. However you can realistically only stack seven plates, so not great if you're cooking for a larger family. Finally the colour is an odd choice, a light grey which doesn't really go with most other kitchen plastics, which tend to be darker in colour. However overall very happy with this purchase, makes a tangible improvement to the kitchen!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 April 2018GREAT VERSATILE DISH RACKAN AMAZING DISH RACK! OVER THE PASSED 30 YEARS OF LIVING IN THE LONDON AREA WITH HARD WATER IT HAS BEEN A CHALLENGE TO FIND A PERFECT DRAINER THAT CUTS DOWN ON THE CLEANING AND GET A SHINE ON STAINLESS STEEL SINK TOP. FINALLY I HAVE FOUND THE IDEAL RACK...... I HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS AND THE RESULT IS THAT MY SINK TOP IS STILL SHINY FROM THE DE-SCALING I DID BEFORE I INSTALLED IT. WHEN CLEANING THE RACK I RINSED IT WITH SOAPY WATER AND COULD SEE THAT THE WATER WAS JUST COMING OFF THE INTERNAL PART FORMING SMALL DROPLETS AND SLIPPING THROUGH THE LITTLE DRAIN OUTLET WITH NO RESIDUE LEFT BEHIND. MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS THAT IT WAS PLASTIC AND WAS GOING BACK IN TIME WITH USING TACKY LOOKING DRAINER BUT THIS ONE HAS A GOOD LOOK ABOUT IT IN MY KITCHEN AND FITS IN NICELY. MY HUSBANDS OPINION WAS "ITS OK BUT NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO PUT ALL THE DISHES ON IT" I DISAGREE, NOW THE DISHES ARE PUTAWAY AS WELL AT THE SAME TIME AS BEING WASHED...... ITS GREAT!!! NO MORE DISHES LEFT OUT TO DRY, LEAVES WATER MARKS WHICH I HATE.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 May 2018Excellent drainer, very sturdy, great for extra drainage or dishwasher emergencies!Just having had a new kitchen fitted, we decided to get a wall rack for dishes to save space, as most stuff goes in the dishwasher. But then the dishwasher connection needed replacing! Got this on the grounds that when entertaining we do sometimes use non dishwasher proof stuff, so something durable but stowable would be good. Very pleased with the design and durability of this. It fits happily on top of the cupboard when not in use, and doesn’t take up too much space in general whilst still holding easily enough for a days load of dishes for two of us. I love the way you can slope it and drain through a spout into the sink. Just make sure the dog hasnt jumped up and moved it if you dont want water on the surfaces! Well up to the brands usual well deserved reputation, a very good buy. Of course the next day delivery was very useful in this case...
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 February 2017Great BUT HUGE ..... measure your sink/drainer first or it may be too bigReally good drainer, NOTE : MEASURE YOUR DRAINING BOARD !! this is really big and will not suit standard sized sink/drainer.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 April 2019ChunkyOn initial use etc. was surprisingly rather a dominant feature but has settled in to newly refurbished kitchen/dining room so to speak. As implied good solid entity and has enough space to hold a range of plates and even large cooking heavy 'Le Crueset" casseroles when required. Well pleased as avoids use of a dishwasher. My only critiscm would be one cannot change the orientation of plates/plate rack. Maybe a tad anorak but prefer my plates facing me so to speak and cannot re-site drainer due to kitchen design/channeled work-surface.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 September 2017Great product let down by a couple of flawsOn the surface of it this is a great product but there are a couple of flaws which are really irritating me already. The spout which drains water into the sink doesn't lock into place when it is pointed down and I've found it's really easy to accidentally knock it so that it's not pointed completely down without realising which results in all the water pooling underneath the drainer instead of draining into the sink. It has happened so frequently I'm going to have to re-sand my brand new oak worksurface as it's covered in really bad water marks. If it just locked into place this wouldn't happen. Also, because it's a folding one (which is a great feature) it's getting grotty in the cracks and crevices really quickly. I've taken a toothbrush to it but where the sides fold it's quite tricky to clean. Aside from that, it's a really good product, so it's a shame that these two little niggles are spoiling an otherwise great design.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 May 2021Great design, practical, functional, smart & easily cleanedHad this coming up 9 months and a fantastic product, easy to clean, (still looks like new), plenty of space for plates dishes, cups, glasses, saucepans and cutlery etc. Fits neatly on the draining board, drains well, especially when up on it’s back feet, (I only recently discovered it had back feet underneath, that extend out and make it slope more!, and hence aid drainage). Looks smart and neutral and so far robust, and is is a great design. Would definitely recommend this.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 April 2019Great design, good size and some good features for a drainerThis was to replace an old plastic drainer which on a new sink looked too small. This one is a great size and I love that you can fold the plate rack down so there is a bigger space if you've only used pots and pans. The angled design with the spout helps to remove water from around the washed up items. I've washed this with just soap and water and it was easy to clean. If you do have to pack up items this folds up easily and makes it easy to transport or store. It's a nice neutral colour which will look nice in most kitchens. This is more expensive than the basic plastic drainers but it's definitely worth it.
Customer questions and answers
- Are you able to supply replacements of the cutlery holders? No you can not change them.
- We have decided not to have grooves next to the sink in the kitchen. Does this dish rack drain water directly into the sink ?Yes - There is a little drop down spout which (when positioned next to the sink) will drain the water away into the sink. There are 4 little legs to the drainer, the back 2 can be set a little higher to help with drainage if required. Or if you want you can keep the spout locked and tip the water away afterwards. I have a Belfast sink with wooden worktops and did not get the drainage grooves carved in, this drainer works perfectly for me! It's well built and will last me years, definitely recommend it. We fold ours away when not in use and keep it in the cupboard under the sink. Hope that helps! see less
- Will this hold 25cm plates? It will hold up to 8 x 28cm plates in the foldaway plate rack
- Do you fold this dish rack away after every use? Any rusting?Sometimes I fold it away. It all depends if you have the space or like a clear work top. No rusting. It tilts downwards to drain excess water through the spout. We’ll set out to hold wobbly glasses and drain large pans brilliant item
