A modern kitchen looks more and more like a laboratory. The design of furniture and appliances, functionality and ergonomics, as well as the organization of space, are thought out so that the preparation of meals and the use of kitchen accesories is as easy as possible. Kitchen storage and organization are crucial in the case of open kitchens, combined with a dining room or a living room. Use my tips to keep order and ensure a perfect, intuitive organization in the kitchen.
Organization in the kitchen
Organization in the kitchen is a key issue when designing and arranging this room. Properly planned furniture, kitchen appliances and household appliances and their arrangement will ensure not only order in the kitchen, but also the maximum use of space. How to arrange the kitchen so that everything has its place? Modern kitchen furniture has many functional and ergonomic solutions in its interiors, thanks to which the storage in the kitchen is organized and convenient. Every kitchen thing has its place, and the most frequently used accessories are always at hand. What to pay attention to when arranging the kitchen?
A very common mistake is the mismatch between the top, shelves, and hanging cabinets and the height of the users. The shelves in the kitchens should be hung at such a height that they can be easily used by the household members, i.e. according to their height. One of the main principles of kitchen organization is the so-called working triangle with the following rule: storage - washing and preparation - cooking and baking. In a functionally furnished kitchen, the refrigerator should be as close as possible to the entrance - this is where most of the purchases are placed. Storage and washing area, i.e. cabinets for products and glasses, plates and pots, cutlery drawers, and a sink and a dishwasher nearby. The third zone is cooking and baking - stove, hob, oven. There is a place for the countertop between the last two zones. The organization of cabinets, shelves in which items and products are stored, as well as refrigerators, is equally important.

Organization of kitchen cabinets
Cabinets are the places where plates, cups, glasses, pots, food, kitchen chemicals and cleaning accessories are most often stored. Organizing kitchen cabinets will be much easier when you use cargo systems and internal organizers. Modern cabinets contain a lot and with their proper organization, everything is easily accessible. Cargo baskets are a patent thanks to which you will keep order in the kitchen cabinets, and the items hidden in them will always be at hand. When arranging items in the kitchen, follow the rules of associated items: cups near the kettle and teas, plates in an easily accessible place near the dishwasher, etc. When choosing kitchen furniture, remember that it is easier to keep order in built-in cabinets, and open shelves with colorful cups and plates, only look good in movies.
Organization of drawers in the kitchen
Drawers are a solution that makes it easier to keep your kitchen tidy and, thanks to innovation and amenities, to store many items, spice jars, lids, baskets and kitchen cleaners. What organization in the drawers to be most convenient? According to the main rule, we keep the most frequently used items in the most accessible place, the less needed, the deeper we can hide them. Drawers for storing cutlery and kitchen accessories - knives, ladles, spatulas, etc. should be located in the most convenient place, i.e. the most accessible drawers. Special organizers for the cutlery drawer are a good solution, separating forks, spoons, knives, spoons. Less used cutlery should also be put back into the drawer.
It is worth having special organizers for jars with spices - easily accessible, and at the same time well protected, they will not fall apart. When organizing spices, it is also worth adopting a kitchen rule - the more often used, the closer.
Order in the kitchen cabinets helps to keep all kinds of organizers. In the deep kitchen drawers, there will also be a place for storing lids and other kitchen accessories - mats for preparing dough and baking, cookie cutters, baking paper, etc.
If you store pots in kitchen drawers, it is a good idea to put a mat on the bottom, which will not only dampen sounds but also prevent bumping and staining the shelves with the sooty part of the pot.
The efficient organization of a small kitchen is based mainly on a well-organized storage system. For the safety of children, it is worth equipping kitchen drawers and cabinets with locks to prevent accidental opening.
Shelves in the kitchen
If you have little space in cabinets and drawers, or the option of placing only hanging cabinets, you may want to consider installing shelves. When buying them, pay attention to the maximum load limit, and also adjust their height and width to the items that will stand on them. Transparent jars for loose products, dried legumes, pasta, teas, and spices look great. It is also a good place for loose products: flour, rice, sugar, poured into jars or decorative cans.
Do not install the shelves above the hob or cooker - objects standing on it may fall and damage the device or fall into the food you are preparing. The hanging shelf above the table top is also not a very fortunate place - tall people can be disturbed in their daily activities.
Storage of loose products
Proper storage will extend the shelf life of the products - this way you will also avoid uninvited guests, including moles. Loose products - groats, flour, sugar, salt - pour into tightly closed containers: jars, boxes, cans, which will protect the products from moths, moisture, and weathering. Glass or thick plastic containers are best suited. An ecological solution is to reuse jars with a decorative inscription for this purpose. Spices can also be stored this way - tall and narrow jars of olives or small jars of fruit purees for babies are perfect.
