- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 January 2021A few pointsThis air purifier works well but some things they have failed to mention, one is that when the air comes out the top of it it's very cold so if you are using this in the summer this is good as it also gives out cooling air, but in the winter it actually drops the temperature in the room to the point where you walk in there and think it is quite cold in here, it also drops the humidity in the room, after running it in a room for 5 hours where the humidity was at 55%, it dropped the humidity to 49%, so if left to run for long periods it can drop the humidity too low causing you to wake up like you have swallowed a bag of sand, recommend you test the humidity levels while running it in a room for long periods of time.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 August 2020You have no idea that this is a MUST until you get oneThis is a must have. I cannot comprehend how I was existing without it. This is the best thing I have invested in during the lockdown. My bedroom has a size of 25m2, I have chosen the smaller version and I am not disappointed. I am very pleased with the quality of the air - believe me you can feel it immediately. The purifier has 3 power volumes. The first volume is silent, but does the job, I have set up the machine to this volume after few hours of the full power, and it is in this mode ever since. I wish I could add the video with the noise, so you could not hear it :) I am having it on while I am sleeping, and my bedroom never have been more “fresher” in the morning. No noise. Also really low electric usage, so you don’t have to worry about the increase in the electricity bill. The second volume is a bit more noisy, the third one is the noises, comparable to the sound that fridge is making when it is working. It creates a nice breeze, and clears the air from smoke, kitchen scents and any scents that are in the room. My cat accepts it too :) I am tremendously happy with this purchase, increase the quality of living
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 November 2020Stopped working within 6 monthsI bought this as a birthday gift for my brother. Got a message today saying the device has stopped working and won’t power up. Not happy as I bought this in July 2020. Not easy to report or contact anyone on Amazon to discuss repair, replacement or refund.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 August 2020Air is definitely cleanerThis is the first air purifier I've bought ever and i'm glad I went with this one. After doing a lot of research and reading through many reviews I decided to go with this one. We've used it so far in our sitting room and in our bedroom (our bedroom is where we've decided to leave it permanently). We have 2 labradors and 3 cats and I've become very conscious now that we're spending more time at home that there's so much floating around in the air like dust and fur and all sorts and we both tend to get quite congested during the night and also sometimes during the day so I decided to invest in a good quality air purifier. I love this. It's a nice simple design, love the face there's one simple button on the top for the 3 settings. I like the fact there's an outer washable filter so you don't have to replace the inner filter that often. Time will tell though if it really does make a massive difference but I can definitely feel the difference in our bedroom at night and I don't think I'm waking up as congested. I tend to leave it on the lowest setting at night, you don't hear it at all on the lowest. On level 2 you can definitely hear it but it's not an annoying noise, quite soothing and I haven't really had it on level 3 a whole lot. I would definitely recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 January 2021Essential home working device for the city, but expensive for what it isAs a Londoner working from home every day in a lower ground flat in a relatively polluted part of town, the ultimate effect of this device is transformational to the air quality. When turning it on for the first time it felt like being up a mountain. The noise on the lowest setting is just about acceptable, however medium and high are only suitable for ‘boost’ situations like coming back from a weekend away. It’s a big beast that you can’t easily hide away and certainly isn’t pretty. Since subsequently getting a dog, it’s kept the flat smelling clean, however the pup has a tendency to tap the button with his nose sending it into hurricane mode. It has actually made leaving the house less pleasant as traffic pollution is so much more noticeable. The price is absurd for what it is, however c. 4 months on I’ve just purchased the smaller 221 for the bedroom. For anyone working at home in London I’d say a purifier is a good investment, however I can’t see why they’re not cheaper, particularly given the ongoing filter requirement.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 July 2020So far so good, with 1 negative...Lightweight, quiet, easy to operate. Haven't had it long enough to comment on effectiveness or durability but other independent reviews I've read are very favourable. One irritation though: the UK plug is on the wrong way around. The third pin is closest to the cable, meaning that it won't properly fit in most UK sockets as the cable is in the way. I've found a workaround by using an extension lead, but it's not ideal. How a company could miss such an important feature is beyond me.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 January 2021Simple, effective, but expensive for what it is.Very simple design. Not very elegant. Basically a small fan with an air filter attached. Ridiculously expensive considering how simple it is, but it does exactly what it is meant to. Low power is quiet but barely moves any air, full power shifts a lot of air but is too noisy for a normal office or lounge if in use. Replacement filters are reasonably priced and don't need replacing too often, and cheaper than any equivalent with a good reputation. Hate the price but the alternatives are even worse.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 October 2020Works a treat.I bought one of these to circulate air and keep it fresh in our shared office/ living space especially as the house is closed up over winter. On the lowest fan setting it was quiet enough to run during the daytime during working hours and seemed to work well. I then cleaned out a store room in our house, put up bookshelves and removed my book collection from the boxes where they had been stored for the last eight years. My allergies acted up so badly that I moved the Blueair upstairs where it cleaned the air of musty dusty smells in a matter of hours. My allergies haven't disappeared but they are so much better that I ordered another one for the downstairs because I love having my room smell so clean that I'm unwilling to give it up.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 April 2021Does the job but emits an unpleasant odourI was impressed at first by how well this unit operates. It did seem to recycle the air very well in a short space of time and was able to get rid of various cooking smells quite easily. So full marks for its ability to actually filter the air - thats what it got 3 stars for. Its also so quiet on its lowest setting that its virtually inaudible unless your head is right next to the fan. However, there were some big negatives for me as well. The biggest being that the filtered air that was pumped out of the unit had an unpleasant stale odour to it that I can only assume came from the filter. This caused the recycled air to seem a bit polluted and it aggravated my sinusitis considerably to the point where I was having quite bad headaches whenever this machine had been on.The indicator lights on the control panel also don't switch off at night, so they act like a weak night light if you use it while you sleep. If this doesn't bother you and your sinuses are not as sensitive to chemical smells as mine, then its a pretty decent air purifier. But, personally, I had to return it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 May 2021It worked for meI wanted to change the room I sleep in to what used to be where my cats slept (they now have luxurious accomodation in a different room). Despite my love for cats I am alergic to them so I spent quite some time cleaning all the room - hoovering and wiping down surfaces etc - aired the room with open windows - and several weeks after the cats were banished I slept in there for one night. But I woke up with a wheeze despite the attempts to make the room allergen free. So I decided to invest in the bluepure 411 (following reading reviews). I put it in the room yesterday late afternon and set it on full speed for a couple of hours - and then lowest speed overnight. I slept in there last night and woke with no wheeze! I am always a little congested after sleep - need to cough a bit and blow my nose and none of that was cured - but the allergic asthma feeling in my lungs was not there. None of my symptoms are that severe but I would not have been able to follow through on my plan to sleep in that room regularly - now I feel that I can. It's very strange because it's a plastic tube that sits in a corner and seems to be doing nothing much but it has made a big difference for me within a very few hours.
Customer questions and answers
- Does it have a true hepa filterNo it doesn’t. It’s less dense than hepa, which they claim is as good.
- Do you wash pre filter on particular wash cycle..?I wash mine once a month on a normal 40 degree colour wash and it comes out great. Ive had the purifier (411) for a couple of years and no wear in cover. I dont tumble dry though just air dry.
- Is there any other colours available? As I can only see one option of Diva blueYes, there are two other options available: saffron red and dark shadow.
- If i turn it off at the mains while its on, and switch the mains back on, will it automatically turn back on, or do i have to press the button again? You can turn it on and off with the mains socket switch. The purifier has a knob you turn for 3 positions, it clicks and stays there even if you turn off at the mains.
