not sure, did not buy it on basis of a gram per square meter, does a good job as a towel though. the cotton also has no global system for mobile communications in case you want to use as part of home/office IoT.

I have had no fluff coming off my towels at all, I will be buying some more, perfect thickness, not too thick though, so soft as well, highly recommend

No there are no loops, however they are great towels for the money

They are black. Washed twice, I use them inside the doors like doormats for the dog in wet weather. No real discernible colour fade as yet.
