  Fantastic bargin.

  I ordered this piece of furniture 2 days ago. I live in the Highlands & other companies I'd looked at on Amazon for the same item either didn't deliver this far north or the post fees tripled. However I was lucky enough to find Mercer's furniture, who, delivered free of charge......to the Highlands too.My husband is away & I just couldn't wait, so at 3.30pm this afternoon I armed myself with a screw driver, hammer & pen. I laid out all the bit (2 boxes, one arrived yesterday & the other today) and set about. The instructions aren't the best but with a bit of common sense & patience I had it fully assembled by 7.15pm ( including a couple of coffee breaks) there were a few inaccuracies in the markings & measurements & had to remove a couple of wooden peg things & screw extra screws in for support for the side panels to fit flush. Otherwise for £106 I am absolutely delighted with my sideboard. Absolute bargin.

  You get what you pay for

  Firstly they sent me the wrong item, but after discussion with the seller it was agreed i would keep it rather than have the hassle of trying to repackage and return it.This is not the first item I have bought from Mercers and I would say they are all sturdy once built, but they are notoriously difficult to build as the guide holes are poor and the instructions don't match.The furniture from this seller is cheaper than in the shops but having bought several different items from them, I think this may be because they are slight seconds, as they all seem to have small faults, scuffs or extra drill holes which dont belong and some of the doors and drawers seem to stick so needed planing/sanding to get them to open and close smoothly.Worth the money you save from buying them in the shops if you are good at putting together flat pack furniture without great instructions and can rectify the faults yourself, otherwise stick to buying from a shop.

  This side cabinet is very lovely to look at..it was a very fast delivery time, I ordered early hours of a Thursday and got it on the Friday. Reasonably well with building it up, my husband and I sorted out the wood as it's not marked and the instructions were poop. Three snags 1) there was 2 backs to a draw instead of 2 sides, that was sorted without any bother. My husband rang the shop and they sent out the right replacement 2) we had to miss out some wooden pegs to join everything up, as the wood never joined up properly, my husband secured the front with corner brackets 3) one piece of wood was not the right length as you can see from the picture.

  We recently redid our living room and bought 4 pieces of this range:1) TV cabinet2) Coffee Table3) Side Table; and4) SideboardWe LOVE them and everyone compliments us on how beautiful they are..Yes, we had to sand them a little and some doors didn't quite line up, but that doesn't warrant giving a 'bad' review or rudeness!We have since sorted them out and have waxed it ALL to protect them and they look gorgeous.We would highly recommend these products and, if you want to complain, please dig deep into your pockets and pay some £50 more per item or £100+ in some instances.No regrets (actually 4 & a half stars)R & S W

  It's exactly what I wanted for my dining room

  It looks lovely once built. I've built many flatpack items over the years and this wasn't the worst but certainly not the best either. It took me around three hours to build - with clearer instructions it could have been done in two. That's the only downside that I can see.It is a lovely piece of furniture and I will be buying more from the range. The wood is decent and I don't feel it needs any finishing. Those of you who prefer a polished finish over a rustic one may like to wax coat it but don't let that put you off. It will hold a decent volume of tableware and the drawers seem substantial enough to hold most items you'd want to put in them.For the price of the item, you can't go wrong - just give yourself plenty of build time and, if possible, have a helper!

  What's not to like

  Dead easy to put together over the course of say, 90 minutes.Just separate the parts, post it note on each and separate into piles all the screws etc.Very study and robust piece of furniture, delivered overnight and at a steal of a price. The local pine shop would sell this for £350 easy. At £100ish, it's a bargain!

  Easy to assemble

  I bought two of them, they look good. They look expensive than they are.I was a bit worried about the assemble point, I been ready reviews and I was a bit put off about the comment about how assemble them. In the end I decide to go for it because I think that they are pretty and they hold quite a bit inside the cupboards.I am a single woman, I assembled both of them by myself, my experience doing something like this was none. The instructions are easy to follow, I have to be honest, took me 4 hours to assemble each one, but I am sure that other peopleCan do it faster than me. I am happy with the result, like I said before the instructions are easy to follow. I am really happy with it.Arrived 2 days after I ordered, the courier send me a text with the time that will be delivered.I am really happy with the quality for the price and with the courier that they used.

  Lovely bit of solid furniture

  I am not being paid for this review. I really believe that Mercers furniture to be top notch as flat pack furniture goes. All flatpack furniture is fiddly to assemble, and this is no different, but once you have laid out all these separate pieces, and really look at the instructions over and over again, it’s relatively straightforward. I had absolutely no problems constructing it and I did it on my own. The finished product looks good, very rustic, and is really sturdy, I even have the magazine rack cabinet thing next to the sideboard with a small fish tank on it. I’ve constructed that without the magazine rack things on the side, and it looks really effective I have to say. Because it matches the large sideboard it’s just perfect. I’ve bought the sideboard more than once. And I would probably buy it again.

  Absolute Junk

  Am waiting for Mercers to get back to me as I want a full refund. The left hand side was bowed, so was the top. The screws weren't long enough.There were also screws, magnets door furniture missing. I hired a professional flat pack assembley company who advised me to send it back. Not impressed at all. My other Mexican pine stuff came from a company called Vido and it was perfect. I'd gladly accept a replacement as I really like the look of this item. Only if it comes ready assembled !

  worth the effort

  Slight hiccup with delivery - it's package in two parts - second arrived in good time, but first required two emails to Mercers, which were promptly and courteously answered. When the first package arrived, including the instructions, we took nearly an hour numbering the parts, as only two were actually numbered already! The instructions diagrammatic only - no written instructions - and the diagrams are sometimes too small to make out. It does take quite a few hours to put together, but is good and solid when complete. We finished our sideboard with a darker oak stain and finish and it was worth the effort - a nice piece of furniture, which looks good. Good price.
