  Great unit once you get your head around the instructions

  Looks good, real wood. Instructions from from hell. Unit arrived a day late which I wasn't happy about but it did arrive. The box was damaged and on inspection the top of the unit is damaged. This may of been down to the delivery company. I did not see the need to send it back as we can live with it as it was a great price. Once built its a truly lovely unit. We have adapted it to a TV unit. Looks more expensive than it is and we as a family are happy with it. Delivery by DPD which are normally very reliable. Just think I was unlucky on the day. Too heavy for on person to move or carry the box. You do need two people to build it too. Took 4 hours roughly. It says not to use power tools and we didn't, the wood is very soft and you need to be careful not to overtighten the screws or the wood can split. I would recommend this unit and company but again a word to the wise, don't take building it on unless you are sure you know what your doing. It's not for the faint hearted.

  Raaahhhhh hard build

  Oh my days...... I build furniture .. I make kids play houses out of wood from b n q... I have a drill a jigsaw ... the works I mean I thort I was practically a carpenter ...Until I came across this .... hard hard hard build ... HARD !! And I am good.. took me hour ish to do but raaaahhhhhh the instructions are a puzzle nobody asked for !!!!!!!!! The wood bits aren’t labelled ? So good luck with that...And once you do make it and I ordered two you are In love but sweet Jesus that was hard I’m super handy used a drill maybe 3 hours with a skrew driver but ur hands will be shaking ...even with a drill...

  Sturdy & Lovely Product but takes a LONG time to assemble!

  We love the unit itself but takes a long time to put together! Took my very handy partner with a drill over 5 hours to assemble. If you aren’t very handy and just have a screw driver might take you a few days, plus blood, sweat and tears ?The main problems we had were knowing which way to put things, which was the back, which was the front the sides, the internal partitions and the top. When you have 50+ pieces sat there it’s hard to co ordinate.Next, was a small fault. The cross sections for the front had a knot in the wood right where a screw goes in. So just popped it right out when the screw went through. Obviously not suppliers fault they weren't to know. We wouldn’t mind if you couldn’t see if but of course just our luck. Get 90% of it put together and this happens. I filed it down and super glued it because we weren’t going to take it all down to send it back ?Amazingly quick delivery would recommend buying from Mercers Furniture.Wish us luck as we’ve got a tv unit and table and chairs to come yet!

  Really spacious, really interesting looking chest of drawers!

  These are really funky, I was looking around for some drawers to store my knick knacks and other unmentionables in and every regular boring chest of drawers didn't really draw me in at all, felt like something different, something with a lot of space and a lot of organisation as well, and I came across these.They're pretty great! There's tonnes of space inside them and the different sized drawers are perfect for different types of items and clothing you might be planning to store inside it. You can even share it fairly easily with your other half thanks to all the drawers (although be prepared to fight over the central middle drawer!)They even included a joke with the instructions by claiming it would be put up by a single person in 90 minutes, ha ha ha! Really though it was very easy to put together if a little bit of a labourous process from start to finish, like most of Mercers furniture range, instructions are fairly clear but you have to pay attention to some smaller details they don't do a great job of pointing out which they could do by having a line pointing to an important detail with a big "!" next to it, but oh well.I'd rate this a 5 star if it wasn't for one detail I'm really not sure about - the lack of a bottom board. There's no bottom piece for the drawers, I suppose it doesn't technically need it, but I've put together so much Mercer Corona furniture lately and every single one of them has come with a solid pine base for the bottom, even ones raised off the ground, and this one lacking one is really glaring and feels unusual. It looks unfinished and it feels somewhat flimsy, especially to look at - included a picture so you can decide for yourself, really.Otherwise no problems with it. Great chest of drawers, extremely sturdy, easy enough to fit together, looks pretty great especially in tandem with other Corona furniture, decently priced compared to other alternatives on this website as well. Good stuff!

  Tricky build but a decent finish

  This took a little while to construct (about 5 hours total and I'm a professional builder) but I suppose a lot of that is to do with the fact that it was a one off. If I were to build another it would be half that time.It's well worth and advisable to check all the components and fixings first. I was missing one small black japanned screw but I had a spare in my shed so it wasn't a problem. All the other various fixings were there, and each bag of multiple parts contained small slips of paper with a letter printed on them so you could identify screws etc which might seem very similar to each other.Lots of similar bits and pieces, so read the instructions carefully. It goes together very well once you figure it out and the finished product is lovely and substantial. For the price it's a good peice of furniture.

  Badly Damaged in transit

  I can't really review the actual product supplied as it was badly damaged (I'm presuming) whilst in the care of the couriers. It arrived and had been repackaged/taped on both ends and being an optimist I thought it might be ok inside, it wasn't, multiple parts had been cracked/broken so we've had to return it. My husband is very practical and even he judged it was beyond putting together. We do live in rural Ireland but still it was very disappointing. The thing is as well, the packaging was so badly damaged we couldn't use it to repackage, so we had to wrap it in cardboard we already had, and it's an absolutely huge parcel to return via An Post. My husband has taken it today though, so hopefully there won't be any further problems. Amazon is quite good with the return process and gives you a free label to print out, so that's a bonus. We have had Mercer's drawers delivered before, delivered by An Post and they are absolutely fine and good. So, like I said, can't judge the product, just the delivery.

  Merchants Chest an absolute disaster and waste of time!

  This was the ideal piece of furniture we were looking for, unfortunately it turned out to be a disaster. I wasn’t expecting high quality for the price we were paying, but I did expect the following1. Items of wood to have labelled letters that matched the diagrams, this would have made it far simpler and understandable to put together.2. Not to have the wood splitting when screwing pieces together.3. Holes to be drilled in the right positions to enable pieces to be joined together.It’s not a lot to ask for!To be fair I contacted the seller after a rant at amazon and they did offer to replace the pieces damaged after I sent photographic evidence, but honestly I was so annoyed and fed up that I asked for a full refund. The company rep, said they never had any problems with this piece of furniture, either they don’t review amazon regularly or they thought I sailed down the river without a paddle!! Either way would absolutely not recommend this piece of furniture. Oh and the reason they don’t put letters on the pieces of wood, it’s not made in this country.... I’m still not sure what that’s got to do with anything, I’ve had flat packs from China with correct letters on the pieces.I ended up going to a second hand furniture store and getting a far sturdier unit for 3/4 of the price!!If I could give it 0 stars I would.

  Complete Garbage. Avoid

  Utter garbage. Pilot holes for screws were wonky, screws not long enough, instructions very poor, far too many peices for self assembly. I am a fitter by trade, but have up on this after 2 hours. I could have fixed it by drilling proper pilot holes, buying correct screws and addressing the stability by adding some struts, but out of principal sending it back.My advice is to ignore this item. Looks good in picture but trust me you will regret it unless you have a degree in flat pack assembly. RUBBISH... AVOID

  Ordered the Corona 2-Door 3-Drawer Low Sideboard - PinePro:Delivered in 2 days via Prime delivery.Unfortunately, this is where it ends.Cons:Everything else1. Package arrived damaged and open from one end.2. Pieces missing, yes multiple pieces.3. Top board wood is split in places.4. Instructions are terrible with no markings except on the accessories bag.5. Quality is not great but OK for the price you pay.Seller needs to add more packaging to protect the product while its in transit, so it does not get damaged and need to make instructions more user friendly with marking on every part with just a simple sticker.
