  Mercer’s sideboard

  I bought this thinking it would be sturdy but I was wrong. One of the doors broke in my husband’s hand, and the bit that joins the hardboard at the back was split. It’s also all marked inside and out!! Definitely not worth the money!!Shirley Scoular

  Very difficult to assemble, takes hours

  Pieces were not all labelled, and assembly is perhaps more for a skilled carpenter rather than 2 practical people with degrees who usually don't find self-assembly an issue. This was a nightmare. Instructions were dreadful. It looks nice one together, but the 90 minute assembly time stated is a joke. It took about 5 hours and much head scratching. Looks good once up, but some areas the finish is very poor (see pics). Back panels are disappointingly fibreboard, and the whole thing is somewhat low (measure before buying). Mine has the wrong piece at the top/front above the drawers, which I've hidden holes with the ornamental black tack pins, and I chose not to add the ornamental bottom pieces as I was so frustrated by the thing at that point, and it doesn't really need them. I prefer it's lack of fussiness without, and also chose to rotate the square pieces behind the cupboard handles. I'd intended to buy more from this range, but I would never do that without paying for someone to assemble on my behalf. Total nightmare to self assemble, but a cheap piece of furniture that actually looks pretty good if you can cope with the sheer exasperation of putting it together!

  Disappointed with the damage

  Parts of the unit came damaged and this is not good another part was filled in with poly fill so trying to cover up the hole

  Good product looks nice and is sturdy

  It's a DIY set so pretty hard as in complete bits. Not for first timers. Took me a while but happy with finished product. Good instructions easy to follow. Only down side its smaller than I imagined. But that's my fault as dimensions are clearly shown I just didn't give it much thought. Ideal for smaller spaces

  Important: Dress frame, be very careful not to screw your nail in too deep, wood can split.

  I would give 5 stars for design the only down point I will say is part of the upper dress frame of this product was bow. Part of the wood by oneof my draw split, nevertheless that could be me screwing to deep into the wood. The cupboard door was hard to open 2 out of a total of 3 hadthis problem. Some of the dress screws for the hinges fell short I notice it was substituted and while it blended in was not the perfect match.I have several products from this collection in the natural colour so I wanted this product to contrast the others, nevertheless I really do like theRustic Country Design that is in keeping with my Decor.

  This is a little less sturdy than I would have liked. The shelf inside cannot hold anything with any real weight at all which is a little disappointing. However, it looks amazing and very modern. The price was brilliant and overall I am very happy with it.

  Attractive piece of furniture. Drawers and cupboards on the small size. Cupboard shelf runs full length across all three cupboards so presents limited options for use. We have had to take it out to suit our requirements.

  Lovely but instructions weren't clear.

  Took a lot longer to assemble than it should have. Nothing was numbered and I had to guess what went where by the pictures in the instructions. But, other than that? It is a lovely piece of furniture. Worth the money for definite. Just the fact that none of the pieces were numbered to know what went where.

  BARGIN!!!!!

  Purchased this item for my conservatory which doubles as my dining room and couldn't be happier at what I received. Although the paint finish is abit hit and miss, it's actually perfect as it goes with my shabby chic style. Would definitely purchase other items from this range as in no way are they cheap and unsturdy
