The natural oak wax finish on the Vida Designs Panama Console Table 2 Drawer is not only visually appealing, but it also provides excellent protection for the wood. The wax creates a barrier that shields the table from moisture, spills, and scratches, keeping it looking great for years to come. The finish also gives the table a warm and rustic feel that is perfect for adding character to any room.

The solid pine construction of this console table makes it an incredibly sturdy and durable piece of furniture. Pine is a hard-wearing and strong wood that is perfect for items that are intended for everyday use. The table's robust construction means that it can withstand the wear and tear of regular use, making it a great long-term investment.

The compact design of this console table makes it an ideal solution for smaller spaces. It can be used in a variety of different rooms, including living rooms, hallways, and bedrooms, without taking up too much space. The table's slim profile allows it to fit into narrow areas, such as hallways, while still providing enough surface area to be useful as a display or storage piece.

The two storage drawers on this console table are a fantastic addition that provides ample space for storing a variety of items. They are simple to open and close with their stylish handles, and they glide smoothly on metal runners. The drawers' interior is spacious enough to hold larger items like tablets, books, and even small blankets. With two drawers, there's enough storage space to keep everything organized and within easy reach.

This console table is delivered flat-packed, making it easy to transport, and it requires minimal assembly. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and all the required tools are included. The table can be put together in no time at all, so you can enjoy it right away. The table's lightweight design makes it easy to move around, so you can easily rearrange your living space to suit your needs.

A strong, well made cabinet. With concise and clear instructions.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 May 2020
I have a lot of experience when it comes to finding storage mediums as I am a material hoarder. In this case I needed it to store my ocarinas, and more general bits and bobs such as dvds/games and larger books that are too large for my book shelf.I am dyslexic (if you hadn't already guessed by my horrible grammar) and when I come across instructions that have no images of any form my brain explodes. The instructions in this case consist of clear step-by-step images as to how to put it together. If you have someone else helping you put you'll get it done in an hour at most maybe two depending on your experience with flat pack furniture. If you do this on your own I found it took me two or three hours to put this together, more due to some parts of the process being very fiddly. It is light-weight enough that it can be moved without doing your back in, yet heavy enough that you won't have to worry about what and where you'll be putting things in and on top of it. It is sturdy and strong. I recommend that after putting the cupboard together that you sand it down and finish with paint or a varnish to protect the wood. The wood does have some staining (I'm guessing that it's either from delivery or, based on drip/drop marks a hardening process, I am unsure) which is why I recommend sanding it down. Only needs a light sanding and then its all ready for finishing, then its go time.I had some trouble with putting one of the handles on, based on how I had to fix it it seemed to be an issue with the screw thread inside the handle. I have fixed this and got it on, but look out for that.A few negatives that are fixable, but really that's something that should be done before the item is shipped out, and could've noticed during quality checks. But overall this is a great piece of furniture and I do love it. I decided I wanted to stain mine after using it for a bit. So I will add a before and after picture within the next few weeks so that you can see how it looks after having been put together and then after finishing. It is a good value for money, just make sure those lil' things are caught and it would make it five stars.

    Lovely piece of furniture!

I was very dubious about ordering a piece of furniture for our hallway from Amazon.. if I'm honest I was expecting parts missing or broken but I couldn't have expected any better from any other place! It's far more solid and attractive than I was expecting..it looks exactly how it does on the picture supplied but feels far more substantial and better quality than I imagined - wow! We absolutely love it!

OMG, assembling it is not for the faint hearted
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 May 2019
Disappointed, but I've given it an overall 3 rating because it was much cheaper than alternatives, but I guess you get what you pay for. Would I buy it again....No.Next time, I'll spend at least double the money and hopefully get better quality and usability.Instructions say 2 people, no power tools, what it doesn't say is as soon as you open the package you have past the point of no return. To check off all the components you need to unpack and you'd never get them back in the packaging again. It took me 4 hours to almost complete it, but hanging one of the doors as the hinge is slightly out of line, and I'm shattered and need a new day to complete. Also, there's instructions for attaching the sideboard at the back to a wall....I've never had a sideboard that needs to be stabilised by fixing to a wall by a piece of fabric, so do I take the risk or make a hole in the wall and then never move it!The instructions at first are mind boggling and you have to read all the steps from 1 to 13 to figure out what pieces are to be used since there's very little labeling of wood parts. You have to check the diagrams for all the cutouts and screw lineups before connecting anything. Having said that, I was working alone and some of the bits would only go one way.I purchased it because it appealed to me because of the "Natural Oak", but it's not that pleasing to look at or use, since there's "play" in the drawers and lines don't match up.Lets say this was a learning curve!

    Would definitely recommend

I had been looking around for sideboards for a coyole of weeks and not having a huge budget i was struggling as I wanted two and the ones I were looking at were £200 or more just for one. I came across this product and was a little dubious at first but thought what the heck i'll give then ago. They arrived within a matter of days of ordering. This is a good sturdy product, much better than I was expecting. The cupboards hold much more than I was expecting also and the drawers are very deep. They are a lovely colour and look fantastic. Overall I am very pleased with this product.

Solid, sturdy, fairly easy to put together. Good value.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 March 2021
I picked this as it was a competitive price, and exactly the size I needed. It was also unvarnished and unwaxed so I was able to paint it in the eggshell colour I wanted. I have also varnished the top and changed the knobs. It was fairly straightforward to put together but it was difficult to get some of the screws in as the wood is harder than the usual pine so did have to drill some of the holes out a bit more to make it easier (have used an electric drill). You need to put some weight behind it. Instructions to put it together ok. Screws etc were all labelled with letters /numbers and it would have been helpful if the pieces of wood were labelled the same to identify them. Struggled with fitting the hinges as they seem to be a bit bendable but managed with them.

I liked it but poorly prepared for construction
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 March 2021
I really quite liked this sideboard, especially for £68 but it was delivered with a split in one of the drawer sides. Unfortunately they wouldn't just replace that one piece so had to send the whole thing back. I got a replacement very quickly - not as good as the first but good enough to not complain. Constricted the whole thing only to find the drawers didn't sit right. I have sent it back and await my refund which is taking a lot longer than the exchange took! Not buying again as it was a massive hassle but if it hadn't had the issues, it was a nice bit of furniture.

    Don't waste your money!!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 January 2020
Received this morning and now finally assembled six hours later! The finish is awful! 1. Grooves everywhere are very rough timber and will need serious sanding down. 2. Connections are fragile because when put together, instead of a metal turn and lock system, screws are inserted at a drilled angle, which break the wood when secured in place. I've had to wood glue and clamp several! 3. Screw holes aren't lined up causing wood to twist. 4. Drawers don't fit correctly as you can see down each side. 5. Doors are a pain to adjust correctly. What else, oh yes, Amazon stated my delivery was delayed and wouldn't be delivered until 25th, I now have it! For what I paid, it was too much! Crap workmanship. I've paid a lot less for better. I won't buy Vida stuff again!!

A little less precise than we would have liked
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 March 2021
Instructions are not easy to follow. We'd just made another piece of furniture which was much more straightforward. Identifying labels on pieces would have been a great help, as would labels on the outside of screws, nails etc. Thank goodness we have some carpentry experience so we could rectify slight problems. Starter holes for screws are not always accurate. I wouldn't attempt to assemble on of this with a very methodical approach and experience of flat pack furniture. And use woodworking glue to make it stonger.

Ensure no pieces are broken when you open the box!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 January 2021
I did not check, but by the time you get everything out of the box it’s a ball ache trying to reinstall it in the box to return... groan! Had to glue the drawer back together and persevered - It was a little like constructing an IKEA product. Got almost to the end and realised one of the pieces was upside down so had to deconstruct most of it to put it right. I think the assembly instructions could be clearer. Also, part of the drawer was broken and the top was chipped. Found it was a little flimsy for £80, but even after assembly one of the drawers is extremely tight and gets stuck.

Solid pine sideboard at a budget friendly price :)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 March 2021
Solid pine wood furniture, at a budget friendly price. Although the sideboard was easy to assemble, I would recommend taking time to review each step of the instructions as you go along, I managed to put the unit together by myself, but I also managed to get one of the pieces upside down and had to deconstruct the whole unit to flip this piece around! The unit is strong once put together and although the door hinges were a little tricky to put together, they allow the doors to move smoothly and to open to their fullest extent, which helps get items in and out easily. :)

Customer questions and answers

  • What size tv would fit this?
It would fit up to a 40 inch tv, it's quite sturdy once made up
  • can i paint it?
Yes you can. I left the top as is and painted the rest. Looks beautiful
  • Is it waxed ?
    No it's not waxed.
  • Will the unit still be stable if the shelf inside was removed - so larger items can be stored in it?
Yes definitely, the shelf provides no real structural strength. This comes from the draw crossbeam and the rear panel. The only caveat is be careful when tightening the top cross beam above the draw, as the screw can pierce the top of the cabinet.
