The world-famous Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) designed this vase named after him. Aalto was inspired by the Finnish nature with its shapes to his modern style, which made him one of the most famous Finnish designers. Aalto designed the Aalto vase in 1936. At that time, the asymmetrical waveform and simple beauty were almost revolutionary. He won a competition where new Finnish design was sought for the World Exhibition in Paris. Now the Aalto is considered a symbol of 20th century glass design. It is mouth-blown and a real masterpiece of glassblower art. Thanks to their shape, the flowers can be rearranged again and again.
