    Really nice perching stool
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 February 2019
I bought this for my elderly Mum, Mum has problems sitting to do their dinner, cutting up vegetables and sitting to have her hair done. Mum says it's great and uses it often during the day. It has helped to alleviate the back and hip pain Mum gets when sitting. One note, you need to make sure that the rear legs are slightly higher than the front to let the chair be fully effective. Mum says it's very comfortable.

Perfectt for main purpose but not limited by appearence to a bathroom
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 December 2019
This is a very modern and well designed item with the advantage of having removable arm rests allowing it to adapt to use outside of a bathroom without looking blatantly " for the disabled " ! I am hoping my present problem will be resolved with surgery but as an 83 year old have to realize reluctantly that specific items might become essential . Knowing others of a similar age I am aware we are not a bunch of "old dears/fogies " who have lost their appreciation of décor and colour coordination etc .. Items designed to aid problems are frequently ignori this fact. If it's royal "clinical " blue BIN IT as it's never going be our choice . We need to be able to forget our difficulties when possible and not have them , to use a modern (ish) phrase " in our face". So in other words Thank You to the designer .!

a strong easy to assemble chair..
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 December 2020
Only a few nuts, bolts and washers are required to assemble this chair (which are supplied along with a spanner and screwdriver). The legs and arms slot and clip together and are strong and sturdy.. only a very minor gripe is that the armrests could do with padding on them but that's my personal view on what is an excellent chair.. I had it assembled in around 10- 20 mins I'm not great when it comes to self assembly too.. note it also would make a decent kitchen chair for just sitting at the counter height or even a dining chair (when lowered / raised to the appropriate height).. What I'm saying is it could be used for toddlers too I suppose. Not just for elderly and disabled people.

    Absolutely delighted

I am absolutely delighted with the perching stool. It was so easy for me to assemble as my mobility is pretty restricted at the moment. It is sturdy and strong. It is so comfortable and with the addition of the arm rests I am finding it very easy to get up out if it. When I need to use in different rooms I will use it as a walking aid to get to the rooms as it isn't too heavy for me to manouvre.. I wish I had bought one so much sooner.

    A very useful perch
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 January 2021
The perching chair was great for my father, who at 6' tall and with arthritis in his hips and lower back was finding other chairs a bit low to just perch on in the bathroom. This one has adjustable height, and actually goes high enough for him.The seat and back rest are comfortably padded, the arms are sturdy enough to help you lift yourself back up and also handy so you don't accidentally topple off to one side.A nice wide base and rubber grips on the ends of each leg ensure the chair isn't going to slide out from under you. It's a sturdy metal frame, but also quite lightweight and easy to move around.Easy to assemble. Only gave 4 stars as the metal tubing for one leg was slightly damaged, and the plastic ring around it broken, and I had to bend the lip of the tube back out with pliers before I could slide the second part of the leg into it.

So impressed I bought a second one!

I use crutches to walk and found standing to wash up virtually impossible. This perching stool has made all the difference. It was easy to assemble , it is sturdy and comfortable to use. It can be used to sit at the ironing board and I often use it to perch on whilst chatting in the kitchen/dining area.as it is so much easier to get up from than a chair. If it has a downside it is a little heavy (as it is somsturdy) but I can best move it by "walking" it as you would a walking frame. I was so impressed that I bought a second one for my bathroom.

    Well made and soft seat.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 July 2019
Generally easy for an able person to assemble, good sized bolts and nuts enclosed. The legs are splayed out forwards and backwards rather than sideways. It is used as a shower chair, the arms are removable quite easily is required. The plating on the metal screws is not ideal because after one shower they are showing early signs of rusting. They are however not sold as shower chairs. I am pleased with the item which was bought for a disabled person.

Its heavier , wider and taller than I thought it would be.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 September 2021
Assembly should have been very simple , 2 small bolts and 4 screws . Everything else is push in and click. However fitting the seat with the 4 screws became a problem ,after I had put 2 screws in. The other 2 screws wouldnt go in because the holes on the underside of the seat didnt line up with the holes in the metal frame. Its not wood inside the seat you are screwing in to , its a metal frame .I discovered that the seat was non returnable after I had dismantled it ,and packed it up in its box ,and the Amazon box. I Went on line to return it ,and it came up ' non returnable item'.I contacted customer service and eventually got to speak to a person ,who I was able to explain all of the above. He confirmed it was non returnable even though it was faulty, and never been used.He organised a refund , and said I could dispose or donate it to somwhere myself. I think this is so wasteful. It could have gone back and sorted out by the manufacturer. The chair itself is very sturdy and substantiial and nice to look at, but it is quite heavy . I am only small and found that I really didnt need the extensions to the legs at all. The white upholstery is harder than I thought it would be , but may soften with time. I wont be re ordering this particular design for my needs, but that isnt to say that it wont be suitable for someone else, we are all different.

    Good chair
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 January 2017
We bought this perching stool for my 80 year old father who has Parkinson's+ disease (PSP). He tends to stumble and fall from time to time and has a few false starts when trying to get up. We keep this chair in his bedroom. It was relatively easy to setup. Need a spanner to tighten the bolts. The arms can easily be removed by pressing in a metal button so you dont need to use a screw driver or spanner to remove them. Similarly, the legs can extend at the bottom using a similar sort of style mechanism i.e. press a metal button on each of the legs. There are only criticisms I have of the chair if I have to raise any:1. My father complains that it would have been helpful to have a foot rest/bar more lower as the standard height setting is a little higher than a regular chair so it would be marginally more comfortable for him to have something to rest his feet on, as the current one that is there, is far too high.2. Someone mentioned in one of the other review that it sounds like a whoopie cushion when getting on the chair. I wouldnt quite say that, but there is a sound of air being squashed out and certainly when getting up from the chair there is a little irritating sound of the cushion seat retaking its original shape and form. Nothing major, just a small observation.3. The arms every so slightly appear not be stable because they move a millimeter or two but they are locked into position.4. The back rest could have been much taller. It only supports the lower back. For the type of people it targetted to, it could have had a taller back rest.

Shame it's not got straight legs!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 May 2021
This chair was easy to assemble and very sturdy. The splay of the legs make it very stable but you have to bear in mind that the longer your legs, the more room the chair will take up because when you extend the legs, the feet move outwards. This is a serious problem in today's modern bathrooms, mine is a reasonable size but I spent an hour this morning moving cupboards, baskets and towel rail to fit everything in. Hence the 3 stars for manoeuvrability; if it had straight legs there would have been 5 stars for everything.

Customer questions and answers

  • What is the width of the seat?
The width, well the chrome side rail have two adjustments, and if you are bigger than that then you can remove them as with the back support which is removeable, I have been very disabled due to 3 ops. on my leg and have piled on the weight over the last two years, I weigh 26 stone and the stool is fine for me
  • Can you remove just one arm?
Arms are fitted with clips so if necessary one or both can be removed
  • Can anyone confirm that this seat is level and does not tip forward. Thank you
The legs are adjustable so you can make sure its level, but as its a perch stool the seat is best with a slight tilt. It is a great bit of kit my husband cannot stand and finds it a great aid when shaving wished we bought it sooner.
  • Is this chair 69cm from when you sit down to the floor
I have 3 Perching stools and the max height of all of them floor to seat is between 62cm and 65 cm. I will say they are very good and comfortable, and I am 168cm (5ft 6inches).
