Great value for the price and very comfortable but make sure you can cope with the reclining issue or you'll be disappointed
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 June 2018
This chair is actually nicer in reality than on the pictures. It's very comfortable and soft. For the money this is excellent value and I'd buy another. However, the reason I did not give it five stars is that the recliner can be tricky. It does not slowly recline. Once the handle is pulled it flips you back into position. Once in position it is extremely comfy though. When trying to put the recliner back down it is again quite tricky. I've yet to manage to do this without either flinging myself forward or having to sidle out the sides and let my husband out it down for me. I do have arthritis so my legs are weak to be fair. My husband has worked out a technique and it seems to be that if you aggressively kick the reclining part with your feet and then move yourself forward ,whilst forcefully pushing your legs down it goes into place.I'm hoping it gets easier with use.It sounds like I'm unhappy with it and I'm really not. It's a lovely chair for the price and the recliner issue is more of a niggle than a huge complaint.

OK for the dosh but definitely not for the elderly or infirm!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 October 2015
Good value for the price but buyers should beware of the following:1. it is bonded leather despite being advertised as, 'real leather';2. The footrest mechanism is incapable of graduation: as soon as you release the leg-rest to recline the chair, the rest tends to extend fully (and fairly rapidly) so it is more or less parallel to the floor. if you have a bad back the sudden conversion of your body into a 90 degree angle may not be a good thing!3. The leg-rest mechanism is so stiff that once the rest is extended it is very difficult to push it back into position - this can only be done with a considerable degree of force. If you have weak legs or a bad back you may not find it possible to restore the chair to its sitting position, which means that extricating yourself from the chair can be difficult and may result in the whole thing pitching forward and your being ejected from the chair. Again, not ideal if you have a bad back or dodgy legs! After three weeks of more or less continuous use there is no sign of the mechanism easing up.4. I am 6 feet tall and the seat back is too short and seat itself too shallow. This would probably be fine for someone up to 5 feet 8 inches tall. That's my grumble for the day!Addendum to above added July 2019: see attached a picture of the chair now. It is not in daily use, but this is what it looks like after nearly 4 years. The bonded leather simply disintegrates over time, leaving the fabric below. The floor is covered in minute shards of bonded leather every time stand after sitting for a while .For the price I would expect nothing less, but don't expect this to look anything like the same condition as when bought after some considerable use: it is not real leather and you get what you pay for. I have found it comfortable and it does provide good support for the back when sitting in the upright position. I had to replace the plastic handle for the release mechanism with a metal one as the former broke. The chair is still extremely difficult to restore to it's normal non-reclining state. Either quite a few of the reviews for this chair lack veracity, or I received the only dodgy chair produced. I leave it to you to decide which is the more credible option!

This is one of the most comfortable chairs ever
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 December 2016
My sister got one of those armchairs and after trying it I got one too, it comes in four parts that are easy to assemble, and although its not real leather (its bonded leather) it has lasted well. After two and a half years of using it I can honestly say that it’s still comfortable, I just put my feet up and push the chair back and end up falling asleepIt’s got plenty of lumber support and is great value for money, if anything happened to the chair I would have no hesitation in buying a new one

More4Homes dont mess about when it comes to Customer Service
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 November 2018
This chair is great the reviews speak for themselves - within its price range you'll struggle to find a better one out there - value for money and looks great. But that's not what I wanted to review, no matter how much you spend when things go wrong, get damaged, whatever - you expect at the very least to get decent customer service during aftercare. Sadly these days this is usually sub standard and we are always quick to put bad reviews up when we left disappointed; so after today I thought it only fair to praise the aftercare that More4Homes provided me when one of our chairs suffered a slight defect, almost 6 months after we bought them. I thought they might repair it, maybe (and we've had experience of this before) even accuse us of damaging the chair ourselves and refuse to honour the warranty. Not More4Homes! I emailed them, they replied immediately asking for a description of the defect and pictures (I couldnt add pics using the Amazon app) and a week later my brand spanking replacement has just arrived. Ashley and Lissett dealt with us professionally and with great courtesy and are a credit to More4Homes. Delivery driver was great too - it's nice not to get a miserable sod for a change too!

    Extremely easy to put together
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 October 2016
Very comfy. Extremely easy to put together, took longer to get it out of the box. Not screws involved, there back just slots into the base, and the two wings slot onto the back. As a chair, its very well padded, and the reclining action is smooth.

Hard for an elderly person to retract the footrest
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 September 2019
I bought this for my elderly father to relax in. However, retracting the footrest once it has been pulled out is not at all easy. Even I need to use force and struggle to put back the foot rest. Releasing it is fine as it pops out when you pull the lever, but not at all easy to push back. Also, although its a very comfortable chair, this is good for people over 5'8" tall. My father who is about 5'5" has a gap between his bum and the back of the chair when his knees are bent over the normal shape of the chair. Height is fine between the knee bend and the floor, but the gap behind means he needs to use a cushion to support his back when sitting. In reclined position, this does not matter.

    Great chair and Great seller!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 March 2016
I actually can't believe the quality of this chair for the price I paid for it.Bought it as a "movie chair" and it's just fantastic. Ridiculously comfy and so easy to push the foot rest back into place. If you're after a comfy and affordable reclining armchair then look no further.Added bonus was the fact it was delivered early!

If you live on your own, take heed.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2018
A friendly word of warning, if you live on your own, do not buy this chair. It’s comfortable, it’s easy to assemble, but it’s the devil’s own job to get out of it. It requires a good sharp back heel kick to lock the mechanism back into place. Fine if you’re legs are strong and capable of delivering the necessary sharp kick, but if you’re legs are strong in the first place, why would you want this type of chair anyway? The other day, I had to email, because I couldn’t reach the phone, a neighbour to come and release me from the chair. I honestly wish I’d never bought it. If ever I had to get out of the chair in an emergency, fire for example, I would fear for my life.

You get what you pay for
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 March 2015
My ageing mother needed a new leather recliner so I went hunting around all the local stores but armchairs like this all seemed very expensive. When I saw this on Amazon for less than £200 I went for it straight away. Now, some six months later, I'm having to look for a replacement because the filler in the arms and seat is so sparse they are all sagging badly. I think, in the end, you get what you pay for and this is just poor quality.

Be ready with the patch kit
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 August 2021
Easy to assemble, comfortable and good value BUT dont expect something that will last for years. Ok I've sat in this every day for 4 years but this is not leather of any kind. It's a thin material which gives way after a couple of years unless you have cushion or some protection on arms. I've bought a cover for it but even then it's still wearing thru on the seat and back. I reckon I've got another year left in it after buying a third pack of patches.

  • Does it lock into place at different angles of recline
Hi there. It does not lock into place on recline. You push back with your body wait to achieve maximum recline (which is easy). • is this genuine 100% leather (it would be marked) or are sellers attempting to flog faux leather (if you own one check for the inscription)
I had one, it seems to be made of spit and cleanex, not leather. Absolute rubbish and the supplier is the worst in the world.
  • How well padded is the actual seat of this recliner ? I usually find seats rather hard on recliners and have to buy cushions.
Hi, as I am disabled and sit down a lot, this chair is very comfortable. It is well padded on the seat and armrests. I recommend this chair for comfort and value for money. My son is absolutely made up with the one I bought for him.Hope this helps,Norma
