Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 March 2015BEAUTIFUL LAMP POOR INFORMATIONThis is a well packed good quality item rather let down by un-helpful instructions and no bulb information. I hope this will assist buyers. The lamp is very beautiful, quite large, about 17" tall. The figure is nicely moulded with good detail. She has a lovely body and a pretty face and is in a natural believable pose. The bronze finish is very acceptable.Information under the base and a sticker on the bulb holder specifies 25Watt max. The glass globe has no ventilation and this restriction is no doubt to restrict heating. When I first received the lamp I only had some 40 watt SBC candle bulbs in stock so to light things up I tried the 40 Watt bulb. After only a few minutes the globe was starting to get very hot, don't be tempted! The bulb holder is a small bayonet cap type (SBC) and this type of bulb is becoming less popular. For example the Screwfix catalogue does not include any SBC bulbs.A visit to my local B&Q provided a few SBC options. I chose a £4.00 energy saving 9Watt Diall candle bulb type, not the halogen version. The bulb is quite large but fits in the globe well with a good ½" clearance above it. Diall call the SBC cap B15. The light is a nice warm white which emanates from just above centre of the globe and looks right. The bulb has an illumination equivalent to a conventional 38Watt bulb but runs quite cool so that in continuous operation the globe gets warm but it is possible to comfortably touch the top and I don't think this would be a burn hazard to children.
