- I particularly want to be able to pre-heat them in the oven before hot meals. Will they tolerate this without discolouring etc ?Hi, yes that is perfectly safe to do. All Denby Stoneware is suitable for the oven. Just be mindful that all pottery can crack if exposed to sudden changes in temperature, no matter how strong it is, so please don't take items from the freezer and put them straight into the oven. Thank you
