Dangerous product needs to be recalled
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 February 2020
Had this fire less than 3 months and yesterday when I went to turn it on, the entire thing exploded right next to my head so I now have ringing in my ears. The fire is completely broken now and clearly there is something dangerously faulty about this product. It needs to be recalled immediately.

Lovely wee stove for a cosy glow
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 October 2019
Given the small recess in our fireplace there wasn't a huge choice in the line of stoves that would fit, this one was about the only one and that's the reason why I went for it. But it's actually a really lovely little stove, gives a very cosy glow and very relaxing to watch. I can't really comment on the heating element yet as other than switching it on to ensure it works it hasn't been cold enough the last couple of days since I bought the stove to warrant having the heat on.Would certainly recommend it though, especially if like us you have an old Victorian flue that needs reclined and you don't have a spare couple of grand to do so, this wee stove will trick you into thinking you've got a jolly fire going and with no more effort than the flick of a switch.Oh, talking of switches, they are at the back of this stove but right at the top so for us it hasn't been an issue. It was something that concerned me before I made my purchase but I needn't have worried.Ticks all the boxes for me.

    Review of Dimplex Micro heater
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 October 2021
Product seems Ok and I bought because friends recommended. With this model however there is no remote control but there is a useful thermostat control. You do have to have the flame effect on all the time for the heater to work which is a shame as with fuel bills going up and trying to go greener would be good to have option of no flame effect also. However I could not get any answer from customer services on something I wanted to ask or from the number to get the 1 year guarantee so not very good customer support. I contacted Amazon who said by buying through Amazon I have a 2 year guarantee so I don't need to call the manufacturer.Update a couple of days later is that I find the flame effect too noisy and also even the flame and fan on gives me a headache. If you had this on with TV or radio etc you would not hear it and it may be OK for lots of people (as friends said it was good) but personally I find it gives me a headache and is annoying. A shame as it looks really good, nice design and flames look quite real so disappointed to be returning it.

    Bought for cosy flame effect
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 November 2020
Agree with other reviews, this is a lovely little stove. Was missing my larger Dimplex with two opening doors and real coal, which I foolishly gave away when I moved. Didn't realise my new inset fire was a hologram, can't compare with realistic Optiflame. Not used heater yet. Am pleased it is almost silent when flame effect used alone.

2KW is perfect to heat up the room this is in quickly ...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 January 2018
1.2KW is perfect to heat up the room this is in quickly then the 600w setting is good for maintaining the temperature without hammering the electricity too much. I wasn't expecting too much looks wise for £90 but it's every bit as good as the £500 opti myst stove I have in another room without the pain of filling a water tank/the condensation problems that come with constantly using the optimyst fires with the steam/smoke effect. If they did a 1.2kw version in the full size I would have gone with that.

    Very Nice Effect
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 November 2020
Pictures and video don't do justice to how good the flame effect is - you can easily forget it's not real!Only problem was it started to get very loud when just on the flame effect - to the extent that I contacted the manufacturer and they swapped out the unit. There's still a small amount of background noise but not obtrusive,

    Lovely Dimplex stove
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 March 2021
Purchased this Dimplex electric micro stove as an additional source of heat in sitting room, after spending 11 days without heating and hot water due to a boiler failure. It is slightly small, but fits into my fireplace perfectly. It looks good, gives a great flame effect, and the heat output is very good too. Very happy with my purchase, and would recommend.

I love it, especially it’s diminutive size.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 November 2020
I am so pleased with this little fire, and that’s the key, it is little. I did lots of research to find a stove effect electric fire which would be small enough to fit into a 1950’s fireplace. This was the smallest I could find, it fits perfectly, and because it’s Dimplex it is also very well made. Thank too, to the people who wrote detailed reviews I could base my purchase on. When lit it creates a warm glow which lights up a dull fireplace: the glow effect can be switched on without the heater being activated. I love it.

Customer questions and answers

  • Is this fire very noisy when working ? I already have a Dimplex similar to this and the fan is extremely noisy, worse when using just the light.
It is similar to any fan heater - you know it is on but it is not bothersome - and most noises annoy me fairly easily
  • Would it be safe to fit stove into a backless fire surround? There would be 9cm clearance each side and 25cm gap from top of stove to mantelpiece.
Yes I thik it will be safe as this is not a gas fire but electric and the warm air comes out in the front of the fire at bottom. I have mine against a cabinet and it is perfectly o.k.
  • Has anyone found this heater to give off a strong petroleum smell when on? If so, does it wear off after a little use?
Hi No Petroleum smell experienced but if there were such a smell it's certainly not here now - we've had the fire on quite a lot during the evenings. Great little addition to the Lounge.
  • What hight is this item? I see the dimensions, but it doesn't say which is hight, depth or width.

It's too small & isn't very effective. It would probably be ok in a small room. We found it looked like to toy heater. see less
