Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 November 2017Excellent!I've had this up now for nearly three months in wind, rain and sun. It's excellent. The waterproofing is good, I keep dry under it. It's handled strong winds very well (I did take it down during the recent storm though. More for piece of mind rather than thinking it wouldn't be ok).I'm confident this can be left out all year round and would just need taking down for a clean every now and then.Might buy another for elsewhere on the garden.Update: it's now been up for 4 years. In all weathers. I only take it down in high winds. It's just starting to show signs of wear. Brilliant product.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 September 2021NOT WATERPROOFBought this nearly a year ago but my husband can’t be rushed into doing things like installing connections on the wall and fixing posts to connect it to so nearly a year later we have used this sail for the first time and was very pleased sitting under it outside our outdoor pub (built during the covid lockdown last year) until the rain got a bit heavier. Not exactly a downpour just a normal rainy evening in Scotland and we are getting badly dripped on. There wasn’t even any pretence of this holding off any water. Also the seams are already starting to go. So all in all will look at spending a fair bit more money for a better quality sail because cost per wear this is not worth it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 December 2020nasty manufacturerI bought one of these, never used it & missed the return date to amazon, so was forced to sell on ebay, using the photos to demonstrate what it is. The manufacturer reported my listing to ebay & had it removed for using their photos. If they focussed a little more on their products instead of hurting customers who wish to sell it on perhaps they'd make more profit.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 May 2021Fasten with a slope for water to run offThey are not water resistant, water does penetrate these sails if they are (like ours) set up flat over a pergola. Water collects in pools then drips through. A sudden gust of wind and you get drenched as the pools then pour out everywhere. Good for a sun shade though.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 June 2018good itemgood item I am using it for shading inside my conseratory, now able to sit for longer when the sun is out.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 June 2019Solid Product; Good QualityPurchased this item to fit inside a sunroom to block sun coming through a clear plastic roof, which was proving too hot in the summer. Product was exactly as I wanted. Good quality, sturdy, good sand colour, good shape (ie. slightly curved sides/not exactly rectangular) but that made it look better. All it needed was 4 x hooks installed and then was quick to put up. The supplied cords meant it was easy to adjust. Overall super happy with this purchase !
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2019Alternative to blinds....I use it inside a glass conservatory under the roof. It still gets hot but blocks direct sun. Far more economical solution than blinds
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 June 2018BrilliantBrilliant bit of kit, does what it says on the box, bit of a pig to tension, so buy the right fittings!!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 July 2019It's all about tension. Get it right and it's a great productUsed as a waterproof canopy over a seating area on a decking. It took a few attempts to get the tentioning right, and you need to ensure water has a place to run off.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 January 2015Brilliant two years onI have bought two of these, I have had then for two years now they still look cool, they seems to be completely waterproof, I have left then out on all winds and weathers. I bought guy ropes and the rubber tent loops to keep the sails taught and it work perfect, a really good quality product the metal corner loops are a must.
Customer questions and answers
- Hi, what is the true colour of the sand shade? In some pictures it looks peach coloured, in others more khaki. Any better photos?Yes sand colour / beige light in colour, definitely not peach
- Hi, purchased this item and am very happy with it. In the description it says "machine washable". What wash cycle would you recommend please? 30C?30c or 40c is good
- What's the right distance to put the poles/fixings to get in taught with no wrinkles? I feel like I've tried everything.Try adding tensioner springs between the sail and rope and ensure your fixing points (pole, wall) mounting locations allow uniform rore tensioning.
- how do you measure to get the right size for these - want them for my conservatory - looking at two rectangle and then a triangular one for the centreThe area plus 3/4 inches for the ties you use
