  Worth 10 stars - Truly beautiful piece of furniture

  William Morris said not to keep anything in your home that was not useful or beautiful and this chair ticks all the boxes.I bought this for my mother as she has fractured her spine and is unable to get into bed, so needed something less upright to sleep in. She hasn't yet managed to recline in it, but she has inhabited it 24/7 since it arrived about 6 weeks ago. She had also gathered fluid on her legs from being in an upright chair for too long, but the footstool has definitely improved this and is much more comfortable for her than anything else we had managed to rig up.Beware if you have non-standard or awkward entry doors. It is large and had to be unpacked outside as the box would not go through a standard front door. Even unpacked it wasn't easy to get in, but the deliverer was superb! I wish I'd got his name to recommend for a bonus. He was very patient and stayed to help until we had the whole thing in the house and unpacked. He then took the packaging away for me which saved me the business of sorting it out and getting it to the dump. The chair was easy to construct, but really needs 2 people to manage the size and weight to get the balance right when lifting onto the central spindle.

  Great chair

  I would never normally buy a chair without sitting on it first but I took a chance on this as it was such a good price compared to other real leather ones I had seen locally. Luckily I was not disappointed. I'm a big guy, 6'3" and this chair swallows me up. It's really big and comfortable. The colour was bit different from the photo. Mine is more of a yellowy beige which I like anyway. I'm very pleased and would highly recommend it.I did have a minor problem with the base and contacted Morris Living direct. They were very helpful and got it sorted. So in the unlikely event that you have problem it's good to know they have a good after sales service.

  Uncomfortable and difficult to swivel

  I would not recommend this chair to anyone under 6 feet in height. It strikes me as a recliner that probably worked okay until the nylon swivel mechanism was attached to the base, which raises the whole thing up by at least an inch and throws the ergonomics right out. I'm five eleven and at one point during lockdowns was over 16 stone and I struggle to make the chair swivel and have to really push hard to get it to recline and when it does it feels like it's constantly trying to push itself back into the upright position. I bought this to replace a different make and design on which the leather had discoloured and split within about eighteen months and I'm afraid this looks like it'll be the same. The back of the back rest and undersides are plastic not real leather and although the real leather where you sit feels nice and soft it doesn't feel any thicker or better quality than the last, £200 cheaper, one, which had the advantage of being much more comfortable than this. As for the colour, well it's nothing like the picture being a more pale sandy yellow. Comfortwise, I find the springs in the seat quite firm, so not that comfortable, and as others have said the headrest pushes my head forwards, which is much more uncomfortable than my last chair. Finally, the swivel mechanism is just a nylon/plastic ring which is attached to the base of the chair with a few metal guides for it to travel through so swivelling the chair is anything but smooth and easy and virtually impossible on a wooden floor without shoes or slippers on and even then a real effort. I've had it 4 months now and hoped that most of these problems would have eased with use but unfortunately they haven't and I wish I'd returned the chair when I had the chance.

  Quality of product, and value for money.

  I am delighted with this product. It is compact - just right in a flat of limited size - but very comfortable indeed. The matching footstool is also both comfortable and good looking. An excellent and elegant piece of furniture. The cream leather used, and th additional feature of swivel as well as recliner, makes this a first-rate buy.

  I don't usually leave feedback, this is the only occasion I've done so - I'd buy from Ebay if I wanted to do that! However I was particularly pleased with this item so here goes.... The chair arrived just over a week of ordering; I'd been advised by seller that the colour was slightly darker than cream - a more sandy colour. He had offered to send me a swatch to ensure I was happy with the colour but this wasn't necessary & was quite with the chair that arrived. Only assembly needed is to attach the two arms. The chair arrived well packaged in quite a large box but had to unpack it outside as we couldn't get it through the front door. Inside, lots of packaging to protect the chair in transit. It's exceptionally comfortable & very good value. Highly recommended!

  Welcome alternaltive...

  These chairs are excellent value for money. They are a dark cream, lovely and soft, nice and wide, well made and easy to put together. Like other reviewers I think that they are a welcome alternaltive to some of the very other expensive chairs available. They do arrrive in a large box - so be aware of that. Excellent comunication from the supplier. Would recomend.

  Recliner Swivel Chair

  Ordered this chair and when it arrived on inspection it had both wood arms rest damaged .Rang the supplier and arranged for a replacement. of the same kind of chair.The new chair arrived and inspected and found O.K. Assembled the arms rests with 2 boltson each side very easy The chair does the job that was intended for and very pleased with it

  Went to get up and used left hand side and the chair fell over.Must use two arms to rise out of chair.

  Super chair and excellent quality

  Super chair and excellent quality.. Would say the colour is mushroom rather than cream, but we think it is better than the cream would have been as it is more subtle.
