As long as you have the mains on it will charge. There's a switch on the base of the lamp to turn on/off the light. Happy with the purchase.

My bedroom has had a revamp and I'd decided to make it more feminine, part of the overhaul was adding a chandelier and I wanted a bedside lamp to co-ordinate. After looking at a lot of lamps I decided this fit the bill, with it having the 2 USB ports its dual function. I've used the USB ports to charge an android phone, a Speaker light, a USB portable light and my amazon tablet... all with no issues.I've put in a led bulb equivalent to 40 Watts and its lovely and bright for night time reading or crochet in bed.It's excellent quality with a switch on the base and also a switch on the wire. I use the switch on the base as its easier to reach for me. It would look great in a living room or hallway too.

The best part is it contains 2 USB charging port as I don't have to go behind the bedside table to put the charge on anymore. it is so much easier in the night time. when I play with my phone on bed while charging it, i don't have to worry about the charger wasn't long enough any more. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

As shade is clear plastic light is bright however I found the first bulb I fitted too bright and could be uncomfortable to look at directly. Replaced with 3W warm white bulb from Poundland and now much better but of course that is a matter of taste.

However, this is a replacement for the first one I had which just stopped working after about 2 months - changed bulb, changed fuse, nothing - just totally dead. Now the exact same thing has happened to the replacement one so I’m giving up and will not be buying again.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 May 2020Comes without a bulb and broke after three months - cheap tat!The lamp game without a bulb and with no instructions about what size bulb you need and the instruction booklet said "if you have a problem contact the customer care team" but there was no phone number, address or contact details. I have now managed to find an appropriate bulb but with limited shops open because of lockdown trying to actually get the lamp to do what it was bought to do and the whole purchase, has been a big disappointment - The lamp itself is fine, and the bulb you need is an E27!!Update - the lamp has now broken after three months - really cheap tat and now going in the bin- waste of money

It lasted all of a month before failing to work. It will not turn on. The bulbs had been changed thinking it was a simple error, even changed the fuse in the plug but still fails to work. So is now just an object that looks like a lamp. Disappointed customer

But the only thing which I don’t like it is that it goes too much loght in the room from it. So if you looking for a faded light or something just a little bit I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you looking for something with a string light and very glam just buy it. I love the way it looks, the design is so glam and looks perfect on my bedside table.

- Can you use an energy saving light bulb with this lamp?I would recommend E27 bulbs led as there are energy saving a little more expensive but they last longer do not buy cheap ones i bought the philps E27 led bulbs and my lamps are nice and bright hope this helps
- Does this lamp come with a light bulbThe lamp dose not come with a light bulb I bought a set from Amazon. The lamp is very good but just abit on the light side regarding weight USB chargers are brilliant very quick
- Hi. How long is the cable from the lamp to the plug? Thankyou!I have a 4ft 6in bed with beside cabinets on each side, with a plug behind one cabinet , I need a small extension lead so the lamp sits nicely in the middle of one bedside table. Sorry the cable runs along the back of the headboard so I cannot measure it for you. It is a lovely light, very pretty. Hope this helps.
- Does this lamp work with an iPad 2020 ?Dont know 100, percent two usb in each lamp charges our phones and android tablets ok so i imagine it will with the correct cable usb to ipad
