Nice looking tap at a good price. Tricky fittings.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 January 2020
Positives:Looks great, installation through the worktop was simple 35mm hole required. Fixing bolt was plenty long enough for a 40mm oak top and backer.Works well doesn't dripp, water blends well from hot to cold.Negatives:There were no instructions and no marking to show which inlet hole was for hot and which for cold. I had to do the blow test blow in both pipes when the tap was set to cold and in the on position. The pipe that allows the passage of air is the cold. The tap tails supplied were 3/8 BSP female at the inlet end. This is problematic as this in not used in the UK we typically use 1/2 BSP or 3/4. This meant I had to replace the tap tails. The holes drilled for the tap tails were recessed and most tap tails on the market don't allow for this so it took some shopping around to get something suitable. So new M10 tap tails purchased.

Easy to fit, well made and works great.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 July 2020
I needed to replace my kitchen tap as the old one developed an annoying drip drip drip.... It got really bad and would put me off the government's daily Coronavirus updates on the Beeb. On one occasion I had to pause the update, put a sponge under the drip and close the kitchen door...So that evening I had a good look around and opted for this tap. Annoyingly the first tap that was delivered had a scratch so I had to return that one. Amazon, impeccably sent out a replacement ASAP and it was with me two days later and in perfect condition. It is a decent size and the L shape works much better than the curved tap in terms of space in the sink or should I say under the tap while you are washing or rinsing.I had seen a few comments about "will this fit my pipes or valves" So here is the deal. This tap is provided with the flexible hose and in my case already attached. These are 3/8 of an inch which is a standard European size. Here in the UK our taps are normally connected to 15mm pipes and those should have an isolation valve fitted so any maintenance can be performed without switching water off in the house. What I found that did the trick were some adaptors which are sold by Screwfix, I am sure other outlets supply them to. These adaptors allow you to screw in the flexi hoses from the tap on one side and the provide a 15mm short length of brass to fit into your isolation valve.Installation was a breeze but tricky as you need to get under the sink behind the waste traps but other than that only took a few minutes to fit and tighten.I chose the tap with the shower option and with one click of the tap head it switches from a smooth bubbly flow to a spray pattern. Works perfectly and I am very impressed. This tap looks and feels like a "Gr**e" tap and only time will tell if it will last as long as one of them.

    Good quality, sturdy mixer tap
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 July 2020
I am impressed by the quality of the item and it could pass as one that is more expensive. The tap comes with two flexible feed tails and a plastic long-reach socket for tightening the nut that retains the tap to the sink. You will still need other tools to remove any exiting taps and pipework, plus to fix this new one to the water source. The tails have a 10mm threaded end for connecting to the tap (tighten these by hand) and the other end has a 3/8" female connection. The tap operates by pulling the lever to the right for cold water and then forward to add hot water. Pulling the lever just forward does not allow water to flow because the tap is designed to start with cold water. The neck can be swivelled.Apart from limited information on the Amazon listing, the tap comes with no instruction on how to fit. In case anyone needs some tips:1. Plan ahead to see whether you will need any additional fittings to allow the connection of the 3/8" flexible feed tails to your existing plumbing. It may be easier to replace the tails with ones that have a 1/2" female or 15mm compression connection, but remember to use ones with a 10mm end for connecting to the tap block.2. Don't forget to fit the O-ring to the groove on the base if the tap block to seal the tap to the surface of the sink. Push it into the groove with your finger.3. If not already fitted, consider including isolation valves to the pipework feeding the tap to make future maintenance easier.4. Tighten the tails to the tap block by hand. Don't use a wrench. I was able to do this before fitting to the tap to sink, then feed the supplied flexible tails through the opening in the sink. It might not be possible if tails with a larger sized fitting is used, so you will need to reach under the sink to make the connection after securing the block to the sink.5. The hot feed is the tail that connects to the hole facing the front of the tap. If you mix them up, you will not get the tap to start with with cold water.

Cheap and good quality kitchen tap
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 July 2020
I realised how much I am behind the time when in order to have a certain attachment to kitchen tap I need a new tap. After looking around various trade shops I was surprised to find this tap on amazon. For a tap, it is a really good value - cheaper than what I could buy in a shop. I read previous reviews mentioning lack of instructions and marking of the tails. However, I think they have improved the product. There are a brief manual and tails are properly marked. In my case though I was slightly struggling as the tails were a bit too long for the space I had. The tap comes with BSP standard adapters and even small washer with a filter to go in between. The difficult bit was getting the old tap out, but the installation of this tap was easy and straightforward. It does work, doesn't drip and looks quite economical. My picture actually has that certain attachment at the nozzle. Without it the tap nozzle is smooth. That is the only critical comment I would make. Getting the aerator off was a bit painful. Not just that it is difficult to unscrew without damaging the tap, but also it started unscrewing across threads. So be careful not to damage them.

Great value for money, don't hesitate (but check the o-seal on the handle)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 March 2021
I was a little hesitant when ordering the tap, thinking it might be too big for my small kitchen sink. I was wrong, it is perfect!Pros:- Stainless steel construction: better than brass for longevity and hygiene. As this was to be used for the kitchen sink, I was adamant on getting stainless steel to ensure clean drinking water over the years.- Size: even though my sink is small, it fits in perfectly. The height of the spout is perfect and allows me to refill my Brita water jug without having to empty the sink (something I couldn't do with my old low profile tap).- Ease of installation: the mechanism is unique and very clever. Tightening is finalised with two screws which is far easier than using a spanner in restricted space. Took me under 30 minutes to swap out the old tap for the new one.- Came with UK adapters for the European-sized flexi pipes which are supplied.- Two flow settings cleverly integrated in the tip of the nozzle, switched with a twist.- Design: it is beautiful and the rounded pipe matches perfectly the rounded sink.- Innovative water control system. From what I see, on full cold, the flow is slightly restricted to save water. On medium, the flow is still cold, but this time unrestricted. And on hot, well you get hot water. Rather incredibly, the water is hotter than my previous tap - I have an electric water heater, so the only way water can be hotter is that flow is being restricted. For me this is perfect.- Price! Not sure you'll find a better price for a stainless steel tap of this size.Cons:- Having read reviews complaining about the handle snapping off prematurely, I checked mine. Sure enough, after unscrewing the handle, discovered the o-ring was inadequately sized and had been ripped apart. There is a very simple solution to fix this: pull off an o-ring from the old flexi pipes you are throwing out, add a little PTFE to the screw head, some bike grease in the hole which the handle screws into, place the reused o-ring on the tip and screw back together (see photos). The lever mechanism is now solidly attached, waterproofed and should last many years.I can't recommend this tap enough. If you're worried about the size, don't. It really is a great design, and stainless steel hygiene at this price is unbeatable!

    Parts Missing
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 September 2020
I received the taps and they looked great. They were installed but when it came to connecting the 3/8" to 1/2" adapters they were no where to be found in the box. I have had to order them seperate even though they are shown on the list. I did not want to return the taps as I had to remove and install my entire sink to replace the taps and also this was a bit of an emergency job as my other tap sprung a leak. The only option I can find is to return then. No other option to get just the bits missing sent out to me.

Great looking taps and well made.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 July 2020
After reading lots of the reviews I decided to buy this, first for the price and the looks. I ordered some new 15mm tails to go with this as all the reviews said that they come with euro fittings. To my surprise there were adaptors in the box to go from the 15mm to the 12mm! My fitting kit wasn't the same as the pictures either which I didn't mind as I have a tool for removing the old one. It was a threaded tube with a circular bit nut with 2 screws. Was a bit tricky getting the tap to stand while tightening the locking nut underneath ( did the install solo). But once done this held more firm than my original tap. The tap is great quality and works well. Only downside is using the 12mm hoses means the flow doesn't seem as great, but then I am not used to an aerator on the tap so maybe the reason too. Overall this is a quality product for the price and can see it lasting for a while.

    Superb value
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 August 2020
I've bought cheap taps before, and always been disappointed. This was for our utility room, so I figured I didn’t need to spend a fortune. This completely surpassed my expectations- it has a real solid, quality feel.Installation was simple, there are a couple of washers to put in in the right order, but very straightforward. The shaft was long enough to easily foot through a 40mm worktop with plenty room left to tighten it. It has 2 tails, with red and blue tape to identify hot and cold, with 3/8” heads. You also get 1/2” adapters in the box, so it should fit your standard UK plumbing. It works perfectly- the nozzle doesn’t drip, the tap turns smoothly and the hot/cold mixing is good. Time will tell how it lasts, but so far, this is not only the best value tap I have bought, but the best standard tap all round.

    Fantastic value
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2020
Fantastic value and the brushed finish looks really smart. Its not technically diffcult to install apart from access under the sink which is usually restricted but most DIYers will probably need to get adapters unless you already have 1/2" BSP connections. A variety of 10mm flexible tails to various connections are readily available in merchants but adding to the cost. The tap product page has a link to 3/8" to 15mm compression adapters. I suggest you order them. It comes with 10mm to 3/8" flexible tails, not a common UK connection, plus 3/8" to 1/2" adapters. My tap being replaced had 10mm to 15mm push fit tails so I reused the tails. The instruction leaflet is accurate but a little small. The product video is more useful. The method of fixing the tap to the sink, a threaded tube plus final tightening by screws, is far better than the tap I replaced which has no tube and was never really firm.

Customer questions and answers

  • can you change the flex pipe to a shorter one?
If you mean the flexi-pipe for water supply, i couldn't see a way of disconnecting from inside the tap, but why would you need to change it ?
  • Can the nozzle of the spout be unscrewed out?
nozzle can be unscrewed but it won't screw in the inside the teeth have been worn out
  • Is this suitable for gravity fed low pressure systems ?
I bought this for gravity fed hot water system. The flow was so poor that I had to change it out a week after installing. It is a nice mixer but suggest that you look elsewhere if your supply is gravity fed.
  • How many will be lbergrif griferias sl (model 4008-1 warranty?
