Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 February 2018Solid feeling well-built taps BUT...I opted for Bristan Easy Fit taps as these were recommended to me by my plumber.Pros:Solid, well built taps which comes with a sturdy housing that will allow easy future changing to another (Bristan) tap. My old taps housing featured a 'horse-shoe' collar underneath the sink which I don't like and through which I had a small leak, hence my tap upgrade. This Bristan tap has a much more reassuringly brass housing.Five year guarantee.Cons:As noted by other reviewers, this 'swan-neck' style tap sometimes runs briefly after closing the taps as a result of 'syphoning'. Not a dripping fault but a little irritating depending how OCD you are.I believe the flow rate from this is (marginally) worse than my old taps which were admittedly smaller in height than these ones.I should point out the taps I received had a minor difference to the advertised picture; hot and cold taps were differentiated by a small 'H' & 'C' letter on the tap levers and not colour-coded as per the advertised picture but this really is very minor.*** Update 15th Feb 2018 ***Very concerned about some reviews online of the Bristan Easyfit taps detaching from the tap bases as the two small grub screws work their way loose over time with the result that you have a mains-pressure water fountain in your kitchen! Google trust pilot and and a plumber named Hamish Erskine who makes a very detailed analysis of this potential problem. It hasn't (yet!) happened to me and hopefully won't be a problem but doesn't exactly help my peace of mind. With this potential catastrophic failure being reported on a small but significant number of installations, I would recommend buying a conventional tap that physically attaches to the tap tails instead of being held on to the base by two small grub screws - the worst you're likely to have with these is a leak, not a water fountain.*** Update 12th Nov 2020 ***The tap head is leaking quite badly. Disappointed that it's doing after only a couple of years especially when I paid a premium to get a reliable brand.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 January 2021Don't buy things like this from Amazon warehouse!Product itself gets fours stars.....Don't be put off by the product, as I have had one installed for a few years and it's been fine until one cartridge began to drip. As this was in a rented property I wanted to simply swap out the main part of the tap with a new one for convenience. I noticed this on sale in the Amazon warehouse listed as 'used- like new'. This description is defined by Amazon as being in as new condition, in original packaging, and only the packaging damaged to the extent it cannot be put back in normal stock. However, when I received the item it had clearly been previously fitted to a sink (although no sign of regular use), some rubber seals were damaged or missing from the base coupling and the isolating valves and non return valves not present at all. This product would have been useless for a new installation without obtaining the missing parts. Luckily, as I only required the main body of the tap, and needed it quickly, I was able to use this part to effect a repair rather than sending the whole thing back for refund and re-purchasing another.I'm not happy with Amazon, because whilst I'm sure they don't have time to thoroughly review the parts list and check all components are present when inspecting returns, I think the torn open and empty plastic bags inside the box should have been a clue that the item was not in as new condition.Unfortunately there is no easy way to make this point to Amazon without requesting a return, so sorry to clutter up the product reviews with this warning. The product itself is good, and certainly very convenient for future replacements. Some people find swan neck taps irritating because after turning off the tap some water can continue to drip from the neck. This one uses a fairly fine 'airator' or 'flow straightener' on the spout outlet which largely prevents this, and it doesn't get clogged with limescale easily like some others, so I would give it four stars, not one, the low score being a reflection on my buying experience.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 October 2020Very well made and packed- all components supplied in the pack.A plastic reinforcement piece is provided for use with typically thin stainless steel sinks.(mentioned in the instructions but not shown in the drawings) Fitting that makes the installation MUCH more difficult but it is definitely needed in other than tiled or other solid benchtops. Sadly the very ingenious design of the tap enabling installation from above counts for nothing as the included reinforcement piece needs to be held from below while tightening the assembly. I ended up taping the reinforcement to the lower clamp part to temporarily hold it in place- alternatively you would need two people (or EXTREMELY long arms!)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 September 2015Great looking tap but disappointingGreat looking tap. Bought to replace an old tap that was dripping because the ceramic parts in it had given up.My plumber reckons its an extremely well designed tap. I'm disappointed with it. Its the dripping after you turn it off. My previous tap was the same shape as this one and didn't drip at all after being turned off. It also dribbles 20 minutes after its been turned off which makes us and the dogs jump. So only 3 stars.Have now had this tap a few months. It drives me mad. I've had the original plumber back to look at it and also another plumber. It dribbles at random times, it dribbles when you put something in the sink, it dribbles when you walk past it !!! I wish I'd bought the same tap again which I replaced. If I had to give stars again, I would give it 1 star.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 October 2020Good Looking Kitchen Mixer TapWe saw this tap first in a local builder’s merchants however they wanted much more than we bought it for on Amazon – It was delivered quickly and before the time stated on our order - on opening the box we discovered there was no fitting instruction - I rang Bristan’s Help Line number and got a recorded message to say it had been changed – Finally after getting another number I got to speak to a very helpful lady who gave me a case number and sent me an email with a pdf file of the instructions – Installation was not quite as easy as I was hoping, but this was down to our ‘Carron Phoenik’ sink, the hole was too small so the Push Fit Connector would not just slip in from the top, so rather than enlarging it I took the connector apart, then with my wife holding the top in place I offered the bottom up to the top from under the sink where she was able to turn the Allan key until it was firmly in place – connecting the flexible connectors to the Push-Fit connector was so easy and required little effort and again connecting the flexibles to the house pipework was straight forward although I did put some ptfe tape round the threads before tightening them up – I applied a little grease to the tap connectors (supplied) and making sure the securing screws lined up with the rebates on the Push Fit Connector pushed the tap body firmly in place - then finally screwing the two securing Alan screws fully home – This ‘Bristan Easy-Fit Echo Tap’ was much easier to fit then the old one it replaced .Sadly, we then discovered our mixer arm was bent! - something we had not noticed until this point – I emailed Bristan and attached an image of the damaged arm but after two days of not getting a reply I was getting concerned so I rang Amazon and explained the problem again to a very helpful lady, there was no further questions asked, the lady told me we would have a replacement within two days – Thankfully all we had to do was change over the mixer arm and return the damaged one.We are VERY PLEASED with our ‘Echo Easy-fit Kitchen Sink Mixer Tap’ and EVEN MORE PLEASED with Amazons response and quick service – six days on and still no reply from Bristan!!!!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 February 2018Beautiful TapMade the mistake of buying a cheap tap when having our new kitchen fitted 2 years ago. The ceramic washer was going and caused all sorts of vibrations and noises through the pipes in the house, even when it wasn't being used and we were flushing toilets/using taps upstairs. Bought this Bristan easyfit tap and 30 minutes later it was all sorted. Amazing price too. Took advantage of a "Warehouse deal" and got a reasonable priced tap even cheaper. You can always trust Bristan!!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 April 2018Great but not perfect...Purchased to replace a similar style unit from another manufacturer. Was going to have a plumber install the unit, but in the event decided to do so myself. Instructions were clear to me, the main difficulties for me in the installation were around space under the sink to carry out the fitting. Has now been in use for two weeks, my only quibble is that on turning off the tap, there is still a quantity of water that flows out after a short pause (this has been noted in other reviews of this product).
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 June 2019Drip dripTap looks good, plumber seemed impressed. However as others have noted it runs a little after being turned off and occasionally it will drip even when the tap has not been on for some time.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2021Good looks, good qualityThis tap looks really nice, it's easier to use than my prior tap, and you can easily turn on the water when your hands are full with dishes (no twisting). The plumber said it's not an easy one to install, so don't try this yourself at home. But it's a good quality brand, a good looking tap and the price is adequate for what it is. It's not a huge bargain, but also not super expensive. You get what you pay for when you go cheap, so I chose quality.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 April 2021Good quality smooth movement and good water control.Excellent quality kitchen tap. Smooth movement and feels good quality. We have no issues with the tap dripping for a while after lever turned to off unlike some other reviews, but we had ours installed by a professional plumber. We did not have easy fit already installed but I'm confident we can instal a new tap ourselves when we do need to replace this tap. My only minor criticism is the levers are a little small but they tidy and easy to use.

The grub screw mounting has also been enlarged to ensure there is no slipping after installation even if the tap is moved over time. Thanks, Bristan. see less
- Is it possible to attach a spray rotating nozzle to this tapYes you can. The nozzle unscrews. I bought two of these taps and one nozzle wouldn't come loose and was in the process of returning it but tried the other one and it unscrewed easily. Went back to the first tap and applied a little more force and it came off too.

- Will it fit through a 50mm thick timber worktop? Can it 'thread' through the hole from the top?Hi, the EC SNK EF C is supplied with our unique Easyfit system, allowing the tap fixing to be secured from above the work surface. The Easyfit base is suitable for a worktop thickness up to 35mm. Hope this helps. Thanks, Bristan.
