  Much improved

  I bought some of these a year or two ago and found them quite average. They were just good enough that I bought some more last week and the latest ones are much nicer – soft and plump, almost like hotel towels. I shall buy some more now. Nice to see the improvement.

  UPDATED REVIEW: After umpteen machine-washes and tumble-drying, these are now fine as everyday hand towels.(My original 1-star review is below)These towels may dry quickly in the tumble dryer - but are no good for drying your hands on!They are very soft to touch - but just slide about on wet hands.Takes much longer to dry your hands with this than any other towel I have used - you really have to work at it!Very disappointed with these towels. I would not recommend them.(I did wash them before use, too!)

  A LOT of fluff residue on your skin

  These towels are very soft to touch and seem really good quality for the price at first glance. However, I haven't put them through a wash before use and I was covered in blue fluff. So I tried to put them in the washing machine and used them again. A little less fluff this time, but still way more than you'd want. Will see after another wash...Overall, not recommended.

  Excellent quality

  Really wasn't sure what to expect being a basics range, but these are far from disappointing.Ensure you wash and dry once first before using, have been using these at work for hand towels and must say they are excellent quality and have a soft feel to them.They are worth the money and so far seem to be very durable. Looking at buying bath sheets from same range next.

  My daughter moved away from home and she was having problems drying her washing she explained how the towels were the biggest problem.I thought she needs towels that dry quicker and do not hold water there for do not smell ,they dry quickly and don’t hold water after being laundered.All the problems solved.

  Adequate, no-frills hand towels

  These are no-frills hand towels from Amazon Basics. They do the job of drying your hands adequately well but I don’t feel like my hands are completely dry after using them.   These are great, look good, feel good, they even sound good! Wah really well, keep their softness, shape, dring quality, bounciness and overall are great quality. Really great price. They also have the ability ( being microfibre ) to dry the body really well, without stripping the body of moisture. So with a traditional towel we all tend to rub and almost scrape the skin, with these, they positively soften the skin leaving it undamaged and glowing.A hairdresser once said to me, "never treat your hair when wet in a way that you would not when it is dry" - how many of us frantically rub our hair when out of the shower? These towels are really good for patting the hair dry - and retaining moisture without building up frizz. I personally wrap my hair after a shower and let it dry quite a bit in the towel and have noticed it looks better using these. Plus the hand towels are lovely on the face. My son loves them and being a fussy teenager, had nothing but praise for them. In his words, they wrapped around his waist and tucked in really well - making post bath faffing around so much more comfortable.- so good I have bought another set - and next am off to hunt down the microfibre sports towel to take to the gym. These are a great colour and match my "neutral" bathrooms really well.

  Not bad for a low price

  Not bad for a low price.Not as absorbent as I'd hoped. Need to run them through the wash at least twice before excess fluff is gone.If you're after quality towels that dry you well, then I'd recommend spending a little more elsewhere.

  Great for price

  These towels are great value for money. The absorbency is good but not the best though they have only had 1 wash so that might change. I bought them because the thicker towels we own took forever to dry in our rental where we have no clothes line just a horse.These are perfect for 1st time home owners, college, and the beach.If you want a thick luxury towel, they aren't for you.Really happy

  Great feel but beware the size

  These are some of the softest towels I have ever bought. And I have a bunch of Egyptian cotton towels which i can compare them to. The platinum is a great neutral colour.I'm only giving 4 stars because although I knew size of the bath towels, they still feel a tad too small. If you're a tall person or someone who likes to wrap themselves in their towels after a bath/shower then these may not be ideal. The hand towels are perfectly fine in terms of size, although if I were to be extra picky I wish they would have a loop to hang it off a hook.
