- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 February 2020Should have been perfect, could have been perfect. Instead it's disappointing.1 - Good. This is well designed, exactly fits my requirements, should be beautiful and should be strong - with the emphasis on 'should be'.2 - Good. It arrived very well packaged in heavy cardboard with plastic corner protectors and lots of polystyrene all round.3 - Bad. What's the point of securely packaging something that's already in poor condition? The glossy finish on the right-front corner of the top is flaking off - looks like someone hit it with a hammer. There's also a chip off the centre support board - near the back so not too much of an issue. Pictures attached.4 - Bad. This was not an easy build. I'm not a novice at flatpack builds but it took me over 2 hours - most of which was spent trying to understand the pictorial instructions and redoing the bits I got wrong first time. I'm not saying the instructions are inaccurate, in fact they're spot on, but identifying which way up and which way around each piece is in each picture is not easy and I made more than one mistake which had to be undone and redone.5 - Bad. Pretty sure this unit will fall apart. The joints are made with 43 pairs of bolts and locking cams. However, not one of the 43 locking cams can be turned properly into the locked position. The cams are supposed to be turned from the 6 o'clock position to the 2 o'clock position to engage them fully. However, I was unable to turn any of these cams beyond the 11 o'clock position and ruined a good screwdriver in trying - some will only go as far as 10 o'clock and take only the slightest touch to loosen. I believe this to be due to the high density of the MDF from which the unit is constructed. It seems likely that some or all of these joints will come apart before too long. When that happens, and when I have a lot more time to spare, I may dismantle the whole thing again and try boring out the holes that take the expanding end of the bolts to make them a little looser - that just might allow the cams to lock. If it does, good and well, if not, then I'm afraid this will just end up in a skip.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 June 2020HeFirst order Amazon sent a bedside cabinet. I returned that item at a cost of £23 to me. The correct item was sent and although it was easy to assemble I find that its not that steady assist very heavy and held together by circular clips. Imo not great. Even though it was not my fault they sent the wrong item originally I had to send it back at my own expense, so far that is.
