  Table reservations....

  I was initially very pleased with the table and it is undoubtedly a good, sturdy and quite heavy table.What I am not so impressed with it that the surface wiped off onto my clothing before I realised the surface coating was not sound and came off when you wiped it over with a dry kitchen roll. It marks with just about everything that is placed on it and already needs to be rubbed down and re-coated. This is after using it for no more than 3 days.I did not expect to have the problem of purchasing oil, 1000 grit sandpaper and then the mess of trying to refinish a newly purchased table top while it is in place in my dining room.

  The fixing system is all but useless .

  Only the lower bolts ( for fixing the legs on ) grip at all : the bolts above ( with the table upside down ) won't grip at all , they cant screw into the bolt in the leg so as the nuts are turned , so the bolt simple lengthens ( all four are the same ) .The lower bolts that do 'tighten ' loosen again with the lightest touch on the legs . Ergo the entire fixing system is useless .I haven't got back to Coxmoor on the subject yet . But I can't see how the system can be made to work . There is a rider on the assembly instructions , which says ' caution : the nuts may need tightening occasionally ' !!! : yes, like twice a day IMO. The system is by nature in a constantly wobbly state .What's even worse, is that because of the assembly system's construction, it is pretty much impossible to abandon it and join the legs to the top by conventional, permanent means .I am about to contact the supplier and see what they say , So I'll update on what that is .

  Great table but with some issues...

  When I first got the table I was very impressed with the build as it feels like solid wood and sturdy. The next day when I tried to clean the table with a towel, I noticed the coating (brownish color) started to come off, and the wood surface felt rough like unpolished wood. I wasn't sure if this is normal or just my mishandling, so I decided to buy some sandpaper to re-polish the table surface and then re-coat with some linseed oil, and it turns out fine now.Like some comments before, I didn't expect to do all these work on a brand new table with hardly any use. With that said I am happy with the table now and it is overall a good purchase.

  Definitely a Keeper.

  We needed a table to help cater for the food preparation and extra guests at Christmas. Quite frankly we were prepared to throw the table away afterwards. This table is definitely not a throw away! It was a really fabulous table and now has pride of place in our kitchen. The wood is real and has an almost velvety feel. It smells of linseed oil and evokes memories of lazy days playing cricket at school. If you want a table to throw away try Homebase or Argos for £90. If you want a keeper, try this one.

  Perfect after a bit of TLC

  I bought this for my rather compact 'home office' as a PC work desk. Just a nice size for a twin-monitor setup and plenty of room for mouse, keyboard etc. The legs are thinner than I envisaged (but still sturdy) and I had to sand the surface after a week or so's use as it went quite rough quite quickly (no problems since). I also ended up sawing an inch off each leg as I found it a tad high (more an issue with my chair I guess but that cost £300 so the table had to change!). The value-for-money is hard to beat and I love it with my customisation.

  Excellent quality wooden dining table. I have 2 of these tables in my craft room. They are the perfect size.Julian Bowen have fantastic customer service. One table leg was wobbly - they immediately sent out a replacement leg which fitted perfectly.I highly recommend these tables.

  Beautiful and perfect for the job

  This table is really elegant if you want a simple wood look. It is perfectly finished; really strong and looks beautiful (being used as a table for work). It was delivered early and delivery driver was fabulous. I would absolutely recommend this table and this company to anyone looking

  Quality table

  Perfect! Just what we needed. Needed a smaller table as we had a patio door fitted so the old one wouldn’t fit in the space. This one is great size, excellent quality and very easy to put together, I did it on my own in about 15 minutes. It’s well oiled to keep it from drying out.

  Lovely table and just what I wanted. Compact and sturdy legs and they dont stick out like some tables do. Streamlined and looks very neat for any where. Very pleased. Very easy to assemble and took just minutes to do so.Lynda R

  I needed a sturdy big desk ready to work from home. This table is amazing value for money. Used as a dining table or a desk it is sturdy and smooth, very easy to assemble and looks great. I am really happy with it.
