A solid rustic oak beam in a natural oak colour, finished to a lovely high standard. The beam will have a 6" shelf for you to put your things on and will be 4" thick.The beam comes machined for and including 3 heavy duty concealed brackets.Oak is a natural product and includes knots splits and cracks.PLEASE NOTE splits and cracks may become larger and longer as the beam adjusts to its new environment.This is not seen as a defect and should only add to its rustic charm

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 February 2021Beautiful solid oak beam - not in useProducts came as prescribed and looks fantastic until the - as the feedback from the seller said:"HiSorry you did not take the time or trouble to read the description for this item as there is a highlighted paragraph."Legally OK of course - but for us the beam has now become not solid any longer and cannot be fitted on with the solid mount provided. It would be at great risk for kids and house pets as the cracks goes through the place were the rod is meant to hold up the beam.Not returning of course as this would cost to much and as explained above - we should have taken our time to read that this would potentially be a waste of money for our house hold.I would not have written this review if we did not get this answer back from seller btw...
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 December 2020Excellent choiceThe quality is first class , it came very well packaged looks amazing the brackets are very strong and easy to fit, I plastered it in as well but you don't have to as the fittings are so good first class all round.

- Is the beam made of non combustible material?Mantle is made of solid oak therefore it would be combustable

- I am sure they are fine - but the fixing brackets seem short considering the weight - before I start on fixing - any issues anyone?Hi Russ They are top quality hafele heavy duty concealed shelf brackets each bracket takes up 22 kg 44 kg total and the Shelf comes in at about 19 kg.We have been using these for over 10 years and not had 1 complaint.
