No, unfortunately the base is standard, cushion. (cushion is also sewed on to the base, so you can't really remove it) For the price at the time I got it, it;s worth it. But if you are looking to invest in a chair that has a sprung base.

Is there a weight limit
I don't think so, the chair is light but it's also sturdy. So you should be all right.

Is the chair low? Difficult to get out of if you're elderly for example?
Honestly it's not too low, it's very easy to get out of. If i'm brutally honest, the chair isn't really comfortable, after sitting on it a while your back will ache as the cushion on it is pretty weak. So you might want to grab a few cushions for the back.
