- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 October 2017When clearly ergonomic comfort is such a major factor in determining whether you like it!I can't fathom why I decided to purchase an armchair off the Internet. When clearly ergonomic comfort is such a major factor in determining whether you like it!! The chair looks great. It's an 'attractive' product. In terms of comfort this chair is horribly uncomfortable. There is no lumber support whatsover and the head rest protrudes in a way that makes you wonder why chair designers can't come up with something better. Did the designer ever actually sit on this chair? It forces your neck and head forward. Not relaxing and not comfortable. My advice in busing this kind of chair Is go to a shop, tolerate the tedious sales pitch and try before you buy. Worth it in the end.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 January 2020I should not have ignored another’s poor reviewI had read one reviewer who alone amongst others complained that this model was very poorly designed regarding lumber and head rest. Stupidly I ignored him. I am 6ft with no body or spinal issues There is zero lumber support and the head rest constantly pushes one’s head forward. Both partly improved by my wife making a tailored unit that fits over the back rest. (Photos show Latex foam being seized up to make the backrest less uncomfortable) . It also squeaks constantly. It will probably cost a fortune to return so once I replace it, it will go to a spare bedroom
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 November 2017Well made chairs, but not for everyoneI will start from the communication bit - very impressed! Dominic contacted me to arrange delivery day which suits me. Thank you for that, its a pleasure to meet very polite and organized seller. Now about chairs.. We bought 2. If talk just about visual expression of chairs - they are brilliant. The quality is outstanding, chairs very well made and would serve us for years..But, they are good and comfortable (in recliner state) for my husband, who is 6 ft tall, but they absolutely not use for me.. I am 5ft 3in tall and chairs are very uncomfy for me.. Top head of the chair pushing my head down, always gap (doesnt metter how i sit) around my neck so its impossible to relax.. We decided to keep chairs to avoid the hassle of return and to buy another one for me, but from retail store so i can try it myself before buy..
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 December 2013Comfortable and good looking ( REVIEW UPDATED )UPDATE: Although original review below was very positive, after a couple of years when the chair was used a bit more, the seat started sagging, seemed to lose its stuffing and became really quite uncomfortable. The leather facing also started disintegrating. Basically, it deteriorated in quite a short space of time. I would now only recommend grain leather as I have other leather furniture (grain) which is still in very good condition after more than 20 years.…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..This item is as described. It is exceptionally comfortable, multi-positional recline with good lumbar support and comfortable head-rest. It looks and feels good with lovely soft leather; in this case, a rich chestnut colour. This chair is large and may not suit those who are fairly short in height if they like their feet to touch the floor! There is a matching footstool, however, and that will help. The footstool is also quite large, so together they require a fair bit of room. This chair is for the most part assembled; just the arms to fit. It arrives in a very large box, and, although our front door is standard size, we could not get it through the gap and had to take the chair out of the box and manoeuvre it through the doorway. Unless you are quite strong, you may require a couple of people to do this. The suppliers, Oriental Leather Co. Ltd., contacted us soon after order to arrange delivery which was well before the estimated dates. Extremely courteous and efficient. We are really pleased with the chair and supplier.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 March 2015A Good Comfortable Chair (so far).I took a chance on this chair, because it had such good reviews, and I seem to have been lucky so far. I have had it about three weeks now. It seems well made and is comfortable although the arms could be padded a little more. It is quite large and that is good in my view. The box is enormous and unpacking took place outside. I separated the parts and tilted the back (as when lying down in the chair) to straighten it a bit so it would go through the front door more easily. The door is about 26” wide. It went in without too much trouble. So, all in all, it seems a good buy.The reason that I felt I was taking a chance is that I have a “Mayfair” chair from the same importer, “Global Furniture Alliance” (NOT FROM THIS SELLER). The Mayfair’s wooden base broke after about a year and GFA said it was discontinued and a new base could not be purchased. So I was a little distrustful of the importer not of this seller. It seemed to me that a new base should be obtainable for a one year old chair. However, I think the punt has paid off and I have a good, comfortable chair once more. Nevertheless, if this wooden base breaks I shall be quick to add to this review.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 June 2019Impressive.Ordered the Mars recliner, and wasn't sure what to expect, wasn't disappointed, only down side was it came in a massive box , way too big for the average doorway. Had to open it on he path, and it was peeing down with rain, driver just plopped it down nearly crushing my plants in the garden, anyway once we got it out of the box, we got it in the house easy, it was packed really well and the only fitting up was the arms of the chair two screws in both, thank god, but it looks great and its massive, i am 5 foot 6 and 12 stone and feel small init. Its lovely and soft doesn't smell like leather so hope it really is, wouldn't like the hassle of sending back, but it looks more then its worth. very happy. lovely warm color we had the chestnut.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 January 2013Mars Leather recliner/swivel chair from Oriental Leather. via AmazonThe chair is superb, well made and practical, and above all comfortable. Please, please, make sure that other customers understand that it arrives virtually complete in a HUGE box, and print the size of this on the product specifications. When mine arrived the box would not pass through the door (I live in a mobile home) so it had to be unpacked out of doors and partially dismantled to get inside!! It was worth it however, and I thoroughly recommend the chair to anybody with limited space who needs a comfortable seat.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 February 2020comfortableThis is the second one of these I bought. Very comfortable chair, so much more flexible than conventional armchairs that come with a '3 piece suite' and take up less space. The only problem with it is on the delivery, which, if you are not local you have to get it through your front door yourself. I unboxed my on the drive then took it through the door. It is too big to fit through a standard door boxed.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 January 2015Excellent.Looking at similar cheaper products I noted that many were a false economy as they begin to deteriorate or split, something with which I am familiar having bought cheap "leather" sofas from a leading furniture retailer and having had to contact the managing director to get any satisfaction at all. This chair is of excellent quality and extremely comfortable. i agree with another reviewer that, generally, you do get what you pay for.It does come in a very large box and I did have some difficulty getting it into the room where I wanted it but no messing around with assembly (except the arms - very easy). It was also very well packaged so no danger of it being damaged or scratched. Highly pleased.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 February 2014Very Comfortable ChairOn the first day I had the chair I settled down to watch the football and fell asleep straight away. It is comfortable to sit in (or sleep in!) and the leather seems soft suggesting higher quality than my existing reclining chairs. The main chair willl rotate through more than 360 degrees in both directions and will recline to the desired angle. There is minimal assembly; the arms need to be attached using the 4 screws provided.Delivery was on Tuesday morning after I ordered on Sunday evening. If you want a leather reclining chair I would recommend this product.

The structure of the swivel looked strong enough for my weight and the reclining mechanism seemed to be sensibly designed and sturdy enough to meet all likely usage. The chair arrived well ahead of time, securely packaged and in first-class order. I had to attach the arms - easily done once I'd worked out which arm was which. The hardest bit was disentangling the chair from the packing which was very effective and had protected the chair 100%. The chair and footstool are extremely comfortable - as I've said, I'm a big chap and not the easiest to accommodate. (I've been know to collapse a chair before now, which is both embarrassing and rather painful, I can tell you.) This one is an expensive item but in my opinion well worth the money. Very comfortable and secure, it's turning me into a real armchair vegetable. Thoroughly recommend it. see less
