  ridiculous return policy

  There are problems with the chair. The arm rests are really low, your feet are barely reaching the ground, the back of the chair makes you hunch and if you are not heavy enough, the reclining mechanism keeps pushing you to the front, because it doesn't lock, it just stays reclined with the weight of your body. I am 11 stones and I can't rest back, the mechanism keeps bringing me back to the neutral position. It's always a risk buying online, but I made the mistake of not checking the return policy. Apparently, I need to pay for the courier to get this item back, which will cost me 70 pounds. Plus, the company doesn't allow you to put the item on your car and get it back yourself. It's a decent chair for its money, but don't expect super comfort. And if you decide to purchase the chair, be prepared to stick to it for the years to come, as returns are not affordable.

  Problematic set up, but "All was well in the End!"

  Excuse the pun, but you would definitely pay 'an arm and a leg' on the Highstreet for a chair like this, as it does look very nice in a stylish grey and is a real bargain. It is solidly built with very firm cushions-too firm in fact, for those who like to slouch like me. Anyone who is over 5 feet 4", as said by a previous reviewer will find that their legs hang over the chair when reclining and upright there is not much bottom wriggle room, so you could find yourself sitting on the edge of the seat in an upright rigid position, if you are taller. However, this was bought for an elderly family member who has a bad back and is of a small frame, so it's ideal as the generous chair back cushion supports her problematic back! More room in the seat/less cushion rigidity for relaxation purposes is needed, but it was not purchased for me, so must be rated according to the user! That said, be aware of your physical needs/frame size/height etc, or you could be disappointed. It was difficult to set up as the framework had some defects and the head-rest section would not slot in correctly as the prong/slots were mis-aligned. Also one of the chair legs was a bit wonky, exacerbated when reclining and black paint was flaking off underneath from the mechanism, but that was very minor. The seller who responded very quickly was helpful and offered to send out a repairman. In the end I solved this myself, as I didn't want the fuss of arranging suitable times, etc. Moreover the earlier reviews about a ridiculous 'returns policy cost?' was perturbing, but that was the worst case scenario. The wonky leg was solved with extra washers/padding, and the slot problem solved with much hard work and perseverance. Otherwise a full 5 star rating! The result, a great chair for mother who can now sit in the conservatory and read her favourite books whilst relaxing with a cup of tea!Adhering to the old adage of "Try before you buy!" springs to mind for future purchases, but local retail furniture can be very expensive these days, so you shop around. You take a chance in any scenario, and online reviews good or bad can only tell you so much, but thankfully it all worked out in the end!

  Not worth the money

  Purchased for my husband coming out of hospital after 8 weeks as a patient. It looks amazing easy to assemble. If you are overc5ft 4cm your feet and legs hang off the end. Its difficult to recline takes a lot of effort. I tried to return it. You have to print the labels. Purchase a suitable package for return and organise a courier to collect at my own expense. I give it to my daughter for her cats to sleep on in the kitchen.

  Comfortable chair with easy assembly

  Extremely easy to assemble, just 4 parts which slot together. This is a comfortable chair, only drawback is you need some core strength to sit on the chair and push back to get footrest raised also chair will sit forwards unless you are applying pressure to stay back. We are using as a chair with a separate foot stool at the moment and find this works well.

  It's a beaut of a chair

  Very easy to assemble, compared to some other recliners. I was able to assemble it out of the box in 20 min with no instruction manual. Superbly comfortable and a nice seat to work on all day. Or to even laze on, reading a book. Extremely good value for money.

  Not suitable for the purpose

  Did not recline properly springs forward easily.Came out of hospital after operation for double hip break.Being propelled forwards does not aid my recovery.Returning chair supplyier has at last been contacted and expect speedy removal and refund.

  Wanted this for our holiday home and it's exactly right. Very simple to assemble, sturdy and looks great. Fantastic value for money. If you're looking for a sturdy occasional chair I would recommend this one.
