- Will it stay on all the time if desiredIt has a switch on the bottom you can set at off, on (which is constant) or auto. The auto setting allows the lamp to illuminate when someone walks nearby (stays lit for about 15 seconds until activated again). Hope this helps

I'm fairly sure we have had them in for a year before we have needed to change them, but bear in mind that these only switch for about 20 seconds at a time when we use them in the way we do and this is probably 3 or 4 times a night.
