For me I find nothing more annoying than staying in someone's house or an Air BnB and having to play the find the socket game to charge my phone at night. I've had to move side tables (and discover some unpleasant sights), move headboards, find extension cables etc, so the idea of combining USB charging points onto bedside table devices just seems like a logical thing to do. The lamp is really nice looking, it is touch controlled (although I use Hue bulbs with mines) and it was two USB ports built into the base, meaning guests can charge their phones without any hassle at all.I think the price is fair considering your getting lamp, shade and the built in USB ports for the price, and I love the lamp and the quality.
