I bought the one with the glass jar, so it was a bit awkward to figure out how to attach that.The base is solid has slight damage to edge , but cannot see it when it’s on the floor.It’s a bit odd having half chrome and half black frame but my intention is to paint it black to match the rest then it will look more classyI do find it a bit of a bright light , even with 30 watt bulb. The shaded type would be a softer light
