- Why the product is different with the picture, why the top part of tripod is missingThe top part is not missing on mine, there are 3 parts to screw together on the bottom for each leg (9 individual parts, 3 for each leg), and there is 1 to attach to each of the top part (3 individual pieces) you need to add own lampshade

- What size lamp shade is best suited for this stand?Any, depends on the look you want. I have medum size which has 2 parts, the outer shade and a smaller inner shade, so I didn’t use the poles that go on the top
