- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 September 2020Unsafe product -; requires a fair bit of modification to be electrically safeThis is one of the worst & most definitely unsafe products I have purchased.After it arrived very late I noted that the product is simply a metal plate with fixing and 3 lengths of very very thin cabling with no way of clamping or connecting the cable in place. I’m a qualified electrical engineer and am certain that as supplied this product does not meet uk or European safety regulations which is a big pity because the actual shades themselves are really great and look better than in the picture.As an electrical engineer I have added a number of safety features: cable grommets on each wire, cable grabs on each to prevent the wire being pulled out, resoldered on one of the cables the neutral wire as it was a dry joint and didn’t work and provided easy cable connection within the base plate. Incidentally the plate has no means of earthing so could become live especially as live wires pass through the three holes without support or additional insulation.I expect this review won’t be published for some odd reason or other but please note if it is published : this product is DANGEROUS as supplied . It most definitely, without modification , does not meet uk and European safety specs.
