    POOR QUALITY/PRINT
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 February 2019
I bought the large pasta bowls originally and loved them so purchased side plates, cups and breakfast bowls. Print isn't perfect as seller states however the large dinner plates look dreadful. As another reviewer stated these should be classed as "seconds" I did ask the seller if they were but was told no. In my humble opinion thet are as no shop would would be able to sell them as a quality product. It was finally agreed that they would swap the blue plate (but no others, if so return would be at my expense). As I'd already bought the rest of the set I didnt feel I had much choice and I also needed another set! Second set came with additional blue plate, sadly it was the same poor print as the first. If you are happy with a print merged together and faded then you'll have no worries but if like me and as the other buyer correctly commented.... if you want a full set all looking similar, you wont get this.Definatly the "dodgy box" rejects.... beware.

Hand decorating at it's worst-study the photos very carefully!!!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 February 2019
Although the photographs do actually show this problem ,if you look closely, for me it was an unpleasant shock to find just how badly the hand-applied transfers had been applied! It looks like either visually impaired people have stuck them on, or just workers too rushed to be bothered for the price they're being paid. Either way, if you saw them in a shop, you'd surely find them in the 'Seconds' or bargain bucket. The transfers overlap, run off slanted and the painting around the lip is inconsistent. Overall, the quality is poor, with some bubbles in the glazing and even a chipped edge which had been painted over and glazed. Heavy and thick 'porcelain'- don't expect anything delicate similar to bone china. Beware, if you receive them and find you too hate the fact that a repeat small pattern should be consistent over the whole plate- you'll have to pay a fortune to return them at your own cost due to weight. So I'm stuck with them.

Lovely, Quirky design & good customer service
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 March 2020
I read very mixed reviews prior to ordering these. The majority of negative reviews were from people who weren't happy with the hand printed patterns however I like quirky items that are all individual and these were extremely reasonably priced as well as being some of the only options where i was able to get matching side plates, cereal bowls, salad bowls and pasta bowls so i decided to go for it.I love the patterning, yes it's clearly hand printed but its lovely all the same.Quality seems good. Cannot comment on durability yet but they wash well. They arrived well packaged and included complimentary sugar bowl and milk jug. Unfortunately two plates were broken as the outer box appeared to of been dropped during transit. I emailed the seller directly and recieved a reply within a couple of hours and had two replacements sent within 48 hours which I was very happy with.

    So dissapointed - don't bother!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 November 2020
This is probably my worse ever purchase from amazon. These plates are thick and cheep looking. The painting says hand painted in the description but is just transfers poorly placed on the plates (my 8 year old grandson would have done a better job). They are not strong and chip easily, when washing them for first time use one of them chopped in the washing bowl, just normal washing up.I had intended to buy more pieces to make a set and am so relieved I did not buy any more. As they say you live and learn, so I will not be buying crockery on line again without actually sering the product, not just a photo.

    DO NOT BUY - SECONDS!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 August 2019
DO NOT PURCHASE! There is a lot of guff about hand printed and plates being unique but they are quite simply seconds. The print is doubled up, faded and missing in places. 2 out of 6 of the plates are a different size to the others. Plus, you have to pay to return if they are not suitable or damaged. I feel conned into buying these as now I'm stuck with them as its not worth the postage to send them back.

    Awful quality!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 December 2018
I know this product is meant to be "shabby chic" but that's too nice a word for it. I bought multiple items from the nicola spring range and every single one has arrived chipped or imperfect. I am astounded these products were even allowed to leave the factory is such a state, let alone be sold. If I had seen these products before purchasing them I would never have done so.

    Inaccurate description
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 February 2018
Pictures make clear the pattern is not perfect BUT some of the plates are not even either - they have imperfections in the surface, too. I really don't like the fact that they are not openly sold as seconds (B quality) - the pretence is that they are supposed to be like this - as a customer I feel cheated.

Bright, fun plates that do what they’re supposed to!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 October 2018
Bright, fun plates but I was slightly disappointed with the quality of the transfer. I previously bought some similar patterned side plates in Sainsbury’s and the quality was much better. However, my guests like them and once you’ve got food on them you don’t really notice. Also, I looked everywhere and could only find these plates, as Sainsbury’s had stopped making the range.

    Great addition to the kitchen!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 June 2019
I've been using these plates for months now and they basically look brand new. My partner did accidentally smash one but this was his own fault. The others have held up with no scratches and I couldn't be more impressed. The delivery at the time I remember being straight forward and quick with no issues.

Pattern is terrible more like seconds to me. Definitely not worth the price.

Customer questions and answers

  • Are these heavy?
    Yes they are!
  • Are they oven proof
Hi there, I only have one of those microwaves that also has functions such as a grill and convection which is the function most similar to a normal oven, I suppose. The dishes work with my oven so I'm 90% confident they'll work in a normal oven. I hope this helps.
  • Are they durable as my last (similar) set of plates chipped easily?
There are great plates, my only concern is that there heavy so when wet they can slip from my hand and I have broken 2 plates this way. Hope this helps, Cindy.
  • What is the diameter? On the title and the description there are different plate sizes listed (255mm / 180mm?)
You can chose dinner plates or side plates ! not too hard to work out was it !
