The bread in the instructions was too lengthy for my ancient knife to cut. As a result, I was left with oddly shaped bread and other parts and pieces. For the first time, I used this knife to slice the entire loaf like a professional slicing machine yesterday. Every single slice was flawless. This knife is incredible, and there is no need to exert any pressure when using it. Even with my arthritic hands and shoulder, I was able to do it. For cutting bread, I would suggest this knife. I haven't tried it with other foods, so I can't comment on it.
