The wooden handle wobbles, the wood is pitted and the grain is awful. The wood has been over stained and has weeped onto the blade. The blade is very sharp but is not shiny, but has a very matte finish. This knife is priced to be low to mid range. But I have had budget knives that are a lot smarter. For one that is meant to be aesthetically pleasing, this has missed the mark.

The black effect at the top feels cheap and looks patchy, not a very convincing "Damascus" steel effect. It gets sharp very quickly but then looses that edge equally quickly.I think its a lot of knife for the price, and its a useful shape and size. But it looks better from across the room than in close up.

It is adequately sharp for meal preparation and feels nicely balanced to use. The handle is solid wood, the handle had some residue (wood filler like) on it when it arrived but was easily wiped off. I am sure professional knives are better quality so 3* similar to the other reviewer there is some slight movement in the handle but this was not noticeable when using the knife.

This borders on being a cleaver more than a knife, though it is surprisingly light and, given its size, elegant. The blade us razor sharp and the full tang handle feels natural in the hand. I am genuinely amazed that this is under £30 - I would have put it in the £50 range personally. Absolutely beautiful piece of workmanship.

It feels reasonably heavy to hold but comfortable too, it has a very sharp blade, perfect for slicing or chopping, it’s not so big it doesn’t fit neatly into my cutlery drawer as some chef’s knives can be too long. A nice knife that’s very useful for everyday I’m happy to recommend.
