There is a knife for everything and the block have name for each knife and sharpener, organized and neat.The wood block and brush metal knifes handles looks good together and blend in with our kitchen well. I love the one piece metal design as I am a bit of a clean freak, there is no place for any dirt or grime built up.I am planning to use it in the dishwasher despite many people would go against it. We put each knife separately laying flat and edges stay always from any other utensils and plastic cage/tray. So far there is no rust spot and edge is still just as sharp as day one. I will update this review in due course with durability etc.The knife is lightweight so if you are used to heavy knifes then wooden tang handle may be a better option, this is however well balanced and nimble.

One thing most friends and family are missing are a set of steak knives and I love that this beautiful gift also provides a set for convenient use. I had eating steak or overcooked beef with a standard knife. The block looks really good in the dark wood finish, the knives are all one piee and beautifully sculpted and they are pretty sharp too. The set even comes with a sharpener to keep the knives razer sharp.Overall value for money is really good.

- Hi. For those who have a calliper: could be possible to know the thickness of the blade (especially of the larger knife) please? Thanks2.2mm thickest part near handle , down to around 2mm towards the tip.
- If i put wet knives into the block wooden, will the block wooden become moldy?I would think it would. Also I've noticed if the knives stay wet,like in the sink for too long, they end up with rusty spots but they can be taken off with a brillo pad. So I wouldn't leave them wet, i always dry it with towel.
