    VERY VERY SHARP
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 October 2021
Thes e knives were just what I was looking for, Ive bought steel cooks knives and found them poor even when dicing potatoes,. These are light , easy to use and bloody sharp. Didnt realise how sharp till I saw some blood on my leeks :) But they do come with warnings, so my fault. If you like cooking Id recommend these although I probably wont use the bread knife

Solid As A Rock... Well Maybe A Bit Of Marble. Excellent Value, Sharp Interesting Looking Knives
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 July 2021
I got this as a gift for my mother-in-law who seems to have an aversion to sharp kitchen knives so that whenever we are around hers, you may as well end up cutting food with a spoon. You'd probably get better results!HANDLESThe handle is a mix of soft (thin) silicone where the hand grips and hard black plastic for the end and where the blade meets the handle. They provide a good level of grip with wet hands. However they are lightweight meaning the knife is very much blade heavy so the centre of balance is definitely not what I would call ideal. Depending on the length of the knife (larger ones you feel it more), it's somewhere ahead of the hilt which you can feel when using. Overall though the handles are perfectly adequate given this price point.BLADESThese all came out the box exceptionally sharp which is great. They all have this marble-like coating which is effective and does look like the blade is formed of marble rather than steel. Whether you like it or not is obviously down to personal taste but it does make for an unusual talking point.SHEATHSAll the knives have a corresponding black plastic safety sheath and this is a good idea. However there is no real security to the sheath. They are simply held by friction against the blade rather than any securing mechanism (magnet/plastic bump etc). This means that I think over time they will start to slip more so may become pretty useless. You also have to then store the sheaths whilst using the knives which may be a bit of a pain.VALUEFor £19.99 at the time of writing I feel this set does represent good value considering you are getting five knives which cover all manner of kitchen tasks.CONCLUSIONFor the cost, you are getting a great number of versatile kitchen knives that look good/unusual and more importantly cut very well. How long that sharpness remains is yet to be seen and I think that there would be issues in trying to sharpen them with that marble coating. Therefore in the short to medium timeframe these will do excellent service and I'm sure the revelation of finally having sharp knives will mean that from bread to roasts, the ease of cutting rather than mashing, will have made life that bit more easier.

    Wow these are sharp
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 July 2021
These are a lovely set of professional knives. They all have a guard on them so you don't cut yourself, you don't wash them just wipes them with a damp cloth, obviously not advisable to leave them in water. I had just bought a vey fresh loaf and with my normal bread knife it was just ripping in to shreds, so I tried this one and goodness it went through it like butter. I used the next one for from the paring knife to cut up onions and peppers, well you have to mind your fingers these knives are really sharp, went through in half the time I normally take, I then tried the largest to cut the chicken into legs and wings etc and they went through that so easily it was a breeze. These are really unusual looking knives they are ceramic coated in white and grey and look so classy. One thing I think would have made them a bit more special would have been a knife block as they are wider than the normal ones you get in blocks I couldn't fit in either of mine and I have two different sizes. Shame as that would have made them even better, but if you want a really good set of knives these are the ones, really excellent quality and look nice as well and all have guards one the knives.

    Super sharp set
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 July 2021
I can't fault the sharpness of these knives and the set seems decent value. I tried cutting a tomato and they are very much sharper than my old knives, slicing through tomato as easily as if it was ripe avocado. If you've not had new knives for a while you'll be delighted. How long this initial sharpness will last is something I can't tell you yet, however.I've not really been able to tell whether the ceramic non-stick coating on the (metal) blades makes a difference – it does mean (the instructions say) you're supposed to treat them like you would treat a non-stick pan if you want the coating to last. It's a versatile set with everything from a paring knife to a large chef's knife and serrated bread knife. They have ordinary plastic handles but are pretty comfortable to hold and use. Each one has a full plastic sheath to protect you and the blade, but I don't know if you'd bother fiddling with them every time. The knives just come packed together in a cardboard box so you might want to get a knife block if you don't have one. The marble-effect pattern on the blades didn't float my boat but that's just personal taste.

    Decent for £20
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 July 2021
For £20 you're getting a decent variety of knives - an 8” chef’s knife, 8” bread knife, 7” santoku knife, 5” utility knife and 3.5” paring knife.I got these as we only really have 1 main knife we use and it was time to get some that serve a variety of foods (tiger bread being one of them!). They are fairly sharp, but there are definitely better out there, and I'm not sure how long these would last if you sharpen them often due to the ceramic marble coating. They are comfortable to hold and come with blade coverings, but they're not a secure fit if I'm honest.I would have paid more to have a knife stand with it, but because they're so cheap, I'm not so sure they will last a lifetime. They're awkward to store in the drawer so I may see if I can get a holder for them. If you do a lot of cooking/chopping, I would invest in a well known brand that is more expensive, sharp and higher quality, but these do the job for the time being.

Moderately priced, sharp and comfortable to use, but not sure about future sharpening.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 July 2021
Hecef Non-stick ceramic coated knives, set of 5: This is a moderately priced set, providing a good range of blade options: 3.5 in paring knife, 5ins utility, 7ins santoku knife, 8 ins bread knife and an 8ins chef knife. Within the boxed set each knife comes separately wrapped in plastic and all have separately sheaths for safety if placed loosely in a draw. The knives are good and sharp, comfortable to hold and use. The information says that they are dishwasher safe but do recommend hand washing and immediate drying. The blades have a marble effect ceramic coating which, it states, protects the blade of the knife and ensure they are non-stick. I think most knives are fairly non-stick and if washed and dried well don’t normally rust, so not really sure about this as a benefit as I can’t then see how you can sharpen them without damaging the coating? The blades are not riveted within the handle so I presume are glued (like most cheaper knife sets) and I suspect with wear and tear might loosen from the hilt at some point in the future, so not sure about their longevity either.I think this set are a good budget option, they do the job, look good and feel comfortable.

    Very sharp
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 July 2021
For a reasonably priced knife set these are very nice. Out of the box they look good and are very sharp. The ceramic coating gives a very sharp edge, but I’m not sure about sharpening them when they lose their edge. I have had ceramic bladed kitchen tools in the past and I’ve found they shatter easily if you knock them off the work surface and they hit the tiled floor so I’m going to be very careful with these. The ceramic coating looks like marble so looks nice, but personally I don’t spend much time admiring my knives or talking about them so don’t really understand other reviewers gushing about what a talking point they are. They do the job which is the important thing for me. Each knife comes with a sheath, I would rather have a knife block so I can keep my knives to hand. They are quite wide, so don’t fit in my existing block so I’m going to pick up one of the universal knife blocks. The ceramic coating stains so steer clear of slicing beetroot with them. They make a nice gift, either for yourself or someone else. Happy to recommend.
