It was received vacuum packed, with the scissors holder alteady broken.I did not open the internal box with the knives but content feels heavy and probably durable. Will be returning the whole set and probably think of reordering again, using an own knives block, as multiple other comments suggest a good value for money deal.

The silver with the clear acrylic and black bottom works really and looks more expensive than it is.It goes perfectly with my kitchen which is mainly black with silver.The knives themselves are very sharp and cut through food easily.All the items seem very good quality and even if the knives dulled, you can easily sharpen them with the sharpener.

- Can you put the stand in the dishwasher or you have to clean it by hand?it would take longer to put in and out of dishwasher than to clean by hand. Only clean knives go in it so it needs a wipe once a week
- How often do you grind the knife?Depends on what you cut, how much and frequency of use. If you have a steel its best to give the knife a quick sharpen after use/wash rather than wait until it goes blunt. It holds a reasonable edge.
